You're being harsh, but I agree with you.

Richard Dawkins has written a book in which he claims he has 'proved' that god does not exist. I am not at all sure how it is possible to 'prove' that something does not exist. The usual scientific method is to attempt to prove that something 'does' exist. If you think you have succeeded, others will try to prove you wrong. If they fail, and many scientists try the experiment and all agree, then you might have proved something.

But proving something does 'not' exist? I guess I must get a copy of that book and see if I can understand more than a few words of it!

That's the problem, there is nothing that a believer can 'show' to an unbeliever. Nothing to 'convert' an unbeliever into a believer.

After all, if there is 'nothing' it is rather difficult to prove that there is 'something'.

I propose that god does not exist, other than as an 'idea' in the minds of believers. It is for posters to this thread to provide some sort of evidence that she does exist. So far, nobody has achieved anything beyond simple statements that they are believers. Nobody can answer the most basic question, "What IS god?"

Until convincing evidence arrives, reported in respectable peer reviewed journals, I shall remain an unbeliever and of course am very happy to do so. The thought that my beliefs and opinions should be determined by some imaginary deity is abhorent to me.

The original poster has long since gone from here. Everyone else who has posted since has fully understood that the earth is a globe, but no matter what we said, the original poster just continued to tell us we were all wrong!
