K3b stalled but now is burning the ISO9660 Mandriva-linux-one-2009-GNOME-europe-americas-cdrom-iso. It might just do it this time.

It isn't that old and when I burned Fedora 10 as I look back it read F10-i686-Live.iso . It is either my burner rom or K3b I am having trouble with.

I know there is a way to set the default sound adapter. I can research it for you. It is not a problem that I have had to deal with as my machines have only one card, but I don't recall setting one as a default to be too difficult of a task, pretty easy as I recall, just a matter of finding the right place to do it. Let me know which distro you settle on and if it is still a problem and I will find the process of doing that.
I think I have fell in love with Fedora 10. It is my favourite so far. I want to try the Mandriva but just can't seem to locate a I386 version. The sound is working great now. I thought I screwed up when I read in the release pages about Fedora have trouble with Adobe flashplayer and it having an effect on sound. But the latest update even took care of that. I guess this is where I show my ignorance because my system is I386 and I think that is why the openSuse didn't work because the download was for a 686. The Mandriva version I downloaded was a 586 version. One thing I have learned the hard way was to stay away from 3rd party stuff.

We could use some of those female body builders at the nursing home where I work. A woman that could carry me across the threshold; Hmmm, I think that would be awesome.

My moving days I think are over. I am getting more like a tick rather than a boll weevil. Not looking for a home any more; I have one. We had a good AA meeting, tonight. Got to meet one of my friends from Ranger Boats. They have really downsized here lately according to him. Supervisors going down to leads and so many laid off. He is getting into building pole barns. Another friend from the meetings is supposed to come by in the morning to help me to jack up the back of the house where it needs better supporting.

At my age I have become over analytical. While watching a commercial I tried to analyse with it logic. If dogs don't know that it is not bacon; then just what do they really know what it is? It is a given that we may think that they may think it is really is bacon but how can we really say that for sure? Maybe we really don't know dogs as well as we think we do. Could dogs be right and we are wrong? Can we really be sure what dogs know? How about cats? Do cats really know that it isn't bacon? Or do cats have a higher intelligence than dogs? For all we know it might really be bacon and we have just been misled by the media.

Tired of Windows?
The only problem I had with Fedora was because I have two sound cards. I kept trying to get the sound to work. But then I just took the speaker plug in cord and hook it up to the other sound card. I have an old aureal sound pci card and then I have the built in sound card. Fedora 10 is now using the aureal for my midis and the built in on motherboard Intel sound device for all my other sounds. With the latest updates Fedora 10 even got my ATI Radeon 7400 video pci card working good. I have a dual video setup with the Radeon pci card and the built in Nvidia on the motherboard. From the different Linux setups I have done so far I have found that Fedora can handle Real Player 10 for Linux. I liked Red Hat 9 CDS that I had in college but they just got too scratched up. I just bought a 15 pack of Maxell DVD R-W 4.7 GB DVDS and I just noticed on the Fedora site that it is 8 more days till Leonidas. I think I will try downloading the Mandiva. I have the itch to burn something on these DVD RW.

I like the iso standard. I was liking Ubuntu till I came across Ubuntu 9.04. I wish I had a dog that could track like that. It seems all that tracker wants to do is keep indexing. I thought open Suse would be nice but it would stall on the 11.1 version. Debian 5 is just so stable I want to keep it for my small computer but on my main one I am really impressed with this Fedora 10. I just upgraded it am really like the changes to my computing experience.

I was reading the release notes on a beta version of an operating system not ready yet and this quote was used. I couldn't help but chuckle.

Just because you change your operating system doesn't mean you have to change your religion.
Seems to work just as good as Esword.

WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS - part 2
Thanks, Carol. I hope you having a good day. Tomorrow is payday and another state skills test for the inservice before we can our checks. I have to pay my brother $40.00 for mowing my yard. I am cleared with child support for the states records. Been paying on my $50,000 student loan since last November and have it down to under $49,000. Still got the van in the shop. Taking it one day at a time. Got the laundry done except it needs to be put away and got the dishes done. Plan on building a new shed as money permits. I have computers in pieces all over the house. Mom has decided not to sell the place from out from under me. I am managing with going to my meetings and being touch with my friends. Trying to work the program in all areas of my life. It has been an uphill climb but trying to remember to take it one step at a time. Thank God I haven't tried to make any new geographical cures this year. single life can really suck at times but it has its advantages, too. Life is a lot easier with my higher power's input.

WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS - part 2
May 3rd went without a hitch. It has been over 4 years since her passing. The nurse made it possible for me to take three days off in a row. I have been comfortable in my own skin. Just listening to the sounds of nature. Its a great day to be alive.

Thanks, Thomas. Checking it out. This is so cool to have the 17 inch monitor and 22 inch monitor both on Lenny.

I have my razr cell phone connected with Kandy. It sees the cell as a mass storage device. It can read from it. I was wondering if there was any way to put ringtones on the cell via the usb port connection with Linux.

Mingle AA
Way to go EZ4Sheezy. I keep my 'Just For Today' book in my locker at work. I go to both NA and AA. I also get a lot of help with my 'Daily Reflections' book. To me, 'My gratitude speaks when I care and when I share the NA way' is just as important as when 'I always want the hand of AA to be there." I have a lot of friends in both programs.
