Would love to hear his story especially on tape. I have met so many friends of Dr. Bob and Bill W. There was a place I found once online where you could hear Bill W.'s voice. We are fixing to have the Springtime in the Ozarks convention in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Recovery is just plain awesome.

Still trying to recover from it here. I was thankful for all the power line people who worked so hard putting in long hours to restore peoples' power to them. I was even grateful once they got my power back on. Still working on getting my water back to working but that was partially my own dumb fault.

I heard it at my meeting I just got back from. The chairperson is always reminding us that we aren't a glum lot. He was telling me that sometimes he goes to see the police so they can tazer his two remaining brain cells to help him with his memory. We have this candy dish with hard candy in the middle of our table. One member was gathering all the empty wrappers and putting them in front of me to gauge my reaction. I couldn't help but laugh because he seemed so happy.

THE SENILITY PRAYER: God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones that I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

You can have fun being immature with your friends because they can be just immature as you are.

Since I go to A.A. and N.A. because I am both an addict and an alcoholic I believe in absolute abstinence from all mind controlling substances. There was a time when I enjoyed smoking a big jay and drinking alcohol even but it was like the stuff turned on me. I got where I got the thousand forms of fear whether real or imagined mentioned in the Big Book. The absolute abstinence helped me in my spiritual program. Using my higher power whom I choose to call God is a better crutch for me. Today, God is the answer to my problems instead of alcohol and drugs. I get a better high and I don't feel guilty or paranoid after taking a big toke or drink off God. Really works better in my church life, too because of Jesus and the passover. Jesus said it was okay to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood.

During our recent ice storm I was impressed with people who shared their time and energy with checking on their neighbors. Two men from a close fire department carried cases of bottled water and MRIs in the back of their truck and gave them out to people in need. I was thankful for the water. It was the first time I found out about MRIs which are boxes with easy to fix foods that don't need heating.

I sure will. The ice storm really help some of the businesses around here. Things that were bought up around here were things like chainsaws, generators, oil lamps, candles. But it must have hurt some of the folks who sell firewood with all the downed trees and branches. In an area that is already rural people were thinking about wood stoves and even getting more back to nature. I was impressed with those people who went out of their way to check on others and their welfare. I found out that one of my neighbors has a spring and didn't mind if we got water from there. Calamity does have a way of bringing some folks together.

Thinking about investing in a chainsaw. I sure got a lot of housework and yard work to catch up on. God sure did a lot a tree trimming around here. God sure isn't a respecter of person. His personal trees got a lot of work done to them as well as the power company's trees (telephone poles).

I would say it might be a shallow love. Humans acting human-like is normal.

Yeah, Jt, I just heard the little storm knocked them back a day last night.

They have people helping out in that regard. There is a food bank in town and one just out of town a ways.

Have you ever been treated like one of the guys? What made me think of this question was one of my waitress at the restaurant I frequent. She is a stocky strong tall woman who has two strapping boys with both being stocky themselves and over six feet tall. She showed me the bruises she had with them rough housing with her on her shoulder. She told me that they had both picked her up and thrown her on the bed. She said that they didn't mean any harm and was only playing. I told her that maybe she tell her boys that she is a woman.

Yup. Ignorance was bliss back then.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

According the concordance 'evil' is calamity in this use of the word. What fascinated me was in Genesis 1:4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Not even darkness can exist without God. It makes me believe that the only thing that can exist without God is void but God created everything and without God nothing could exist.

I know. Scary, huh?

Anyways due to the recent ice storm the power company was going to charge the church a $1000.00 to replace the power pole. Then it was going to be only $800.00. One member said he could pay for that. Then when the pastor called back the price was then $1400.00 for the price of the pole. Then the top of the pole fell off so the power company had to replace the pole with one much taller and it didn't cost the church anything because the power company did it for free. God still works in mysterious ways.
