Learn to love?
QUOTE: QUOTE: QUOTE: I tried to learn to love and it didn't work for me. Just wasn't real to me; not able to feel it. I felt like I was just settling. I hope you find a better instructor. You deserve true happiness. I don't think we are meant to be alone, I think there really is someone out there for everyone. We just have to look and work on it. I'm glad I found my love. She's teaching me a lot. I know what we have is real because it's both a romance fairy tale and a hellish nightmare, but we get through the tough times and come out on top. We're both learning and teaching each other things. Trust me, as messed up as I am, if I can find a woman strong enough to handle me, I don't see how something that rare can exist if there wasn't someone for everyone. It has nothing to do with being instructed; just couldn't feel it. If there isn't something there; I can't learn to love a person regardless. This not a school subject; its emotions. I don't think there is someone for everyone as more and more people are becoming single and will die that way. I don't think a partner can make me happy; I have to be happy with myself. I am doing okay but there are days I wonder why I am alive. It all seems so mundane and routine. Very hard to live like this when I am truly bored with my life. I know, I was just sticking with the theme of the topic. :P But, I get like that too. Sounds more like depression than lack of love or anything like that though. More and more people are depressed now a days as well. I wonder if that has anything to do with more people dying alone now. IDK |

Honestly, I think a lot more people than you may realize wear those. Some customers are just too happy and friendly sometimes. I'm not complaining or anything, just saying. |

Oh and I have an appt to see some apartments tomorrow. I have cash on hand to make a deal, so as long as the apartments are decent, we can make a deal.
I talked to the guy about the house and he turned me down, but that's his lose. I don't mind paying someone else, as long as they don't mind giving me a chance. |

10/01 I start school again.
10/10 I start my new job! I plan on staying employed with my current employer, if possible maybe working weekends and 2nd or 3rd shift, most likely 3rd. Sounds a lot more busy and crazy than it will actually be though. I'll be OK and making some good money (finally). |

Drama
QUOTE: Soooo...what works for you? Are you the type to close your eyes, cover your ears and wait for it to go away? Or do you knock back a cup of concrete and deal to it? Depends, in general though I have a zero-tolerance policy for bad drama. I'm all for the good drama though such as falling in love, being excited for new opportunities, etc. |

QUOTE: QUOTE: QUOTE: I know I have been reported. Sometimes by folks who just don't like my style. ANd, after a couple suspensions, I learned not to call names.
I have also reported trolls, scammers and fake profiles. Th PC BS, IMO, is just that. Eventually, we will not only lose our freedom of expression, forums like this will be forced to monitor and suspend anyone who posts anything that goes against prescribed guidelines. I might catch hell for this one but, WTH. One pet peeve I have is, and this is unverifiable and I have no direct proof of it, it just feels like, there are cases of selective enforcement of the rules. If there are rules and anyone breaks them, bias or favoritism should have no part in rule enforcement. Again. My statements are just my opinion and based on no fact. The only reason why there are rules and guidelines on forums like this is because of the ads. They pay the bills, they make the rules. I don't rely on ad revenue on my sites, but I do try to maintain a certain image, so I have rules and guidelines in place for that. I pay the bills by selling products and services and recruiting. I understand that. Not one thing wrong with any site making money however they can. And I hope you and Mingle2 makes bundles of it. TY, IDK about Mingle2 but I plan on staying around for a very long time. |

QUOTE: During all my time here , I have NOT ONCE reported another mingler for anything nor do I plan to ever (unless I feel PERSONALLY threatened in some way, which IM doubting would happen here) I tend to leave these conversations on the computer and not take them so much to heart however, it sometimes feels like people are baiting others , perhaps in HOPES That they will be reported,,,, anyone else ever felt someone was WANTING to be reported, by their behavior and language? Being a site admin, myself, I report abuse, simply because I appreciate my members doing so. It's not just about user safety, but keeping the site clean and enjoyable as well. If you use a site regularly I believe it's your duty to click on ads you are interested in and contribute to the content, help keep it clean and safe, upgrade or donate, etc. Even if your not staff (or "staff"), but just a member. A little help
QUOTE: I am a single mother of 2 teenage boys (12 & 15) Been divorced for several years Long story short my boys father has been in and out of the system since our divorce. He recently was incarcerated again and my youngest son is angry at the world. I feel he takes it out on me more than anyone. Is this normal? Has anyone else ever gone threw this Wouldn't hurt to take him to counseling and get him some professional help and someone to talk to that can help him get through his issues in a healthy manner. Sounds like a normal child, but getting him help certainly won't hurt, even if it's not necessarily needed. |

Learn to love?
QUOTE: I was watching a movie on t.v. a couple days ago, and a man on the movie made the comment 'I could learn to love her, she's a great woman and she loves me'. Is it possible to learn to love someone? Or do you think it's something that should just happen? Which would be better? Sure, if you become so broken that you lose the ability to love, sometimes you have to re-learn. Sometimes you have to make changes to yourself to allow love in. Not forcing thing to happen though, but being open and flexible. |

How Far Back ...
QUOTE: does your memory go? my first memory is when I was four and lied to my parents about something,,,and got spanked I watch my daughter , who is five, how quickly she picked up english language and grammar just through observation and how her perceptions and 'facts' are all based in nothing but what I expose her to how much of how we see ourselves and the world is set from an age so young that we cant even remember? I dont remember why or how I developed my tendency to prefer doing 'right' and not harming others,,,but IM sure it is because I developed those things at an age that is earlier than my memories allow me to consider,,,, ,,,,anyway,...getting off topic of my own topic..lol how far does YOUR memory go? Not sure. Younger than 8 though. I remember arguing with my dad about which way was shorter going home from the store we lived by. I also remember his first lie to me, which was that he loved me. His second was that we would always be friends. I remember the day my parents seperated, when they were together how they would argue and fight. I remember seeing my dad choke my mother in the kitchen. I also remember him pushing the dog down the basment stairs and slamming her against the wall for barking and not liking the dog house he built. I remember having a black dog named Tasha and liking a very beautiful girl with the same name and hugging her when I had a karate tournament my parents didnt attend. Wow thos all sound like terrible memories but theyre not really. |
