I have to agree with some of the posters, you can't determine sexual orientation by mannerism.

First and foremost, if you were in a serious relationship and it just ended... you need to heal. And looking for another relationship probably isn't going to do that. Take up a new hobby, hang out with your friends, or do something that you like to do. Focus on yourself and figuring out how to be a parent with the mother not in the same household. Good luck to you and welcome to the site.

QUOTE: QUOTE: Single, no job, applying for a ten buck an hour job, but chooses to get artificially inseminated? Sounds like someone who does not make the best choices in life. Not the type of person I would want working for me. Plus she would end up on maternity leave anyway. and what about when the baby is born? can't take the kid to work. Doesn't matter can't discriminate based off someone being pregnant. At least she was honest and disclosed it; she didn't have to do that. There could be a number of different reasons why she choose to do that and you are right as a possibly employer that isn't your concern... only if she is able to do the job. |

Mine usually involve some type of situation or conversation and there is usually someone as a focus (that I don't know), but it seems to happen. Don't know... kinda weird.

QUOTE: QUOTE: QUOTE: I find them rather exciting actually... Really? Totally freaks me out sometimes! Especially if they are really vivid. Dunno. Sometimes I dream weird stuff and then later in the day I have a hard time distinguishing dreams from reality. I guess I'm used to it.... It doesn't happen the same day, but some period in the future. I will dream something and it happens exactly the same. It's really weird to me.... because anyways... freaks me out a little bit. |

Are we pushing too hard....
Absolutely!
But keep in mind there are veterans from other wars with PTSD also! I personally am too 'mad' at the moment about comments and other things related to this topic. So, my opinion may not be a professional and rational one at the moment. |

There is more cultural/religious context to that phrase, then just that it's linked to an extremist group.
I am not a scholar in islam, however, we should keep in mind that religious phrase used should be kept in context and not go down a slippery slope of association. And first and foremost, remember that this crime was committed by a distrubed individual (minus all the other demographics). Until, the military completes its investigation, we will not know the whole context and inferences should be refrained from! |

Ft. Hood Shooter NOT Dead..
QUOTE: "Needing mental help" He is a psychiatrist. He was stationed at Walter Reed. Never been in combat. Your theory doesn't add up. You don't think that individuals that work in mental health, don't need help with what they deal with? You don't think that working in mental health doesn't take a toll on someone? An individual that thinks mental health professionals aren't affected by their work is very mistaken! PTSD can occur not only in war/combat. And other mental disorders can occur from working within the trauma of others. I am no way excusing his actions. ** added: mental health professional are in no way immune to mental disorders, illness or mental strain/stress!

I do not feel this is an act of terrorism, in the sense of foreign terrorism.
I think it was just the case of an individual that had repeatedly seen the psychological effects of the war. He had been working with soldiers with cases of PTSD, which is extremely emotionally degrading on a practioner. And he might have been not in the 'correct' mental state and now faced with deployment; he may have just snapped. This has nothing to do with religion or culture. It is just an unfortunate case. |
