QUOTE: Title is rather misleading. The president cannot legally declare war-this is solely under the purview of congress. What the president here was issue an Executive order (what the Germans would call a "Diktat"). What this story is telling us is that Obama is a war criminal like every president before him since at least Wilson.

Got half hour and some intelligence, I strongly suggest you watch this. Not one word is a lie here, every wonder why there is so much hype about 2012, well now you know it has nothing to do with a calender. It has been planned for some time and all apocalypse movie, show's, books are simply to prepare us for the inevitable. Agreed. |

That's The Rumor....

The U.S. intelligence community has found no evidence to suggest North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is dead, a senior U.S. official said Friday following posts on China's version of Twitter that claimed Kim had been assassinated while in Beijing.
U.S. intelligence officials have been looking into such rumors for more than a week, according to the official, who has direct knowledge of the latest U.S. analysis. "With that society you can never be 100% sure, but we just don't see any evidence of it," the official told CNN. "It's a closed society, but at this point we do not believe it's true." The preliminary analysis of the rumor suggests it is part of a "calculated effort to disrupt the economy of South Korea at a fragile time by suggesting things are going haywire up north," the official said. Meanwhile, the official added, "there is no evidence of movement of North Korean forces or activity that you would associate with the turmoil of a calculated assassination." Kim, who is believed to be in his late 20s, assumed the title of"supreme leader" after his father Kim Jong Il's death in December at the age of 69. Kim Jong Il had ruled the reclusive nation since 1994. The official pointed out that even during the recent peaceful transition of power, there were signs of troops being put on a higher state of alert. Neither Chinese state media nor South Korea's Yonhap news agency addressed the rumor in their reporting. |

Did Northern Ireland's Catholics get anything they wanted? Northern Ireland, after all, still belongs to the Queen.
Britain is celebrating the 60-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II. In a message, the Queen thanked her subjects for all their good wishes, and she promised to keep on going.

Oral history.
Boston College is facing a crisis that's both moral and legal. The school collected an oral history of the vicious war between Irish Protestants and Catholics -- a history that includes many confessions of murder.
Boston College promised to keep the confessions secret, but now those secrets may now be exposed with potentially violent consequences. CBS News Mark Phillips reports on the complications involved. During the three decades of Catholic-Protestant violence in Northern Ireland -- and even in the 14 years since the peace deal -- the worst crime after the bombing and killing itself has been to talk about it. Too many deaths are still unsolved. Too many families still want revenge, or, like Seamus and Helen McKendry -- justice. "I mean it's not just us," said Seamus McKendry. "There are thousands of families here grieving still, never knowing what happened to their loved one. Everyone is entitled to the truth." And the truth -- or at least a version of it -- now exists on tape: Interviews recorded as part of an oral history project for Boston College on the promise that the confessions would be kept locked up in the college library until those who made them died. Former IRA commander Brendan Hughes' interview was released after he died in 2008. "I knew she was being executed -- I knew that," he said on tape. Hughes' confession from the grave concerns the 1972 killing of Helen McKendry's mother, Jean McConville. A widowed mother of 10, McConville was abducted and murdered by the IRA on suspicion of being an informer. "The front door got kicked open and they dragged my mother from the bathroom, and that's the last that she was seen," said Helen McKendry. And Brendan Hughes' testimony contained another bombshell -- he says he knew who ordered the killing:Gerry Adams, now one of Northern Ireland's main peace-makers, but who was long suspected of -- and always denied -- being an IRA commander himself. "The special squad was brought on the operation there called the Unknowns. Gerry had control over this particular squad," Hughes said on the tape. But when a book containing Hughes' and other revelations hit the streets, the Northern Irish police became involved. They wanted to know what other evidence of unsolved crimes might be under wraps in the Boston College library, and they subpoenaed the U.S. courts to get it. After a legal battle, Boston College was compelled to hand its archive over. Its spokesman. Jack Dunn. now says the court will now decide whether to release it. "We as a university are trying to fight the fight on behalf of oral history. but our ability to do so is limited in the face of a federal subpoena regarding a criminal investigation for horrific crimes," said Dunn. But many feel the school could have put up a much stronger fight to protect the interview archive. And that if it's released, people like Anthony McIntyre, who conducted many of the interviews, could be hurt -- or worse. "I think the people who spoke are at risk," he said. McIntyre, a former IRA member who served time for murder himself, has now been labeled a traitor and informer by his once-IRA colleagues. He knows what that could mean. "It demonizes a person and traditionally the IRA punishment for people that are accused of informing was death." The Boston College tapes have exposed the conflict between those who are seeking justice and those who are seeking peace. And it may be that in Northern Ireland these days, you can't have both. http://m.cbsnews.com/fullstory.rbml?feed_id=2&catid=57374314&videofeed=38 |

Obama against the Catholics
President Obama ’s mandate, via the federal Health and Human Services Department, requiring all Catholic universities and hospitals to cover contraception and sterilization procedures in their insurance plans is an unforgivable abuse of federal power, and has become a lightning rod for those who believe religion should be largely free of government interference.
According to many strategists, it’s a decision that could doom the President’s reelection bid, reignitingthe old culture wars overthe place of religion in America. It certainly does seem a sinister affront to a group of people for whom right-to-life issues are central to their religious doctrine. But — and I ask this as a person with an unblemished record of defending Christian America — is Obama’s new mandate as alienating to Catholics assome on the right wouldhave us believe? Catholic America is in themidst of an identity crisis, one that’s been boiling up for years now. While right-to-life issuesare central to Catholic dogma on paper, it would seem most Catholics don’t always live — or even vote — their beliefs. That has been masked somewhat by the media furor over the issue. Groups like the Catholic League have condemnedObama for this move, while GOP front-runner Mitt Romney thundered, “I will not hesitate to use the powers of the presidency to protect religious liberty.” On Tuesday, presidential adviser David Axelrod announced that the White House might be looking for a compromise. “We certainly don’t want to abridge anyone’s religious freedoms” he said on MSNBC. But whatever the future of Obama’s contraception plan may be, it has already taught us plenty about how far the President is willing to gowhen it comes to government overreach. Yet according to a Guttmacher Institute report, only 2% of Catholic women rely on natural family planning. A full 98% of sexually experienced Catholic women have used a contraceptive method atleast once, and 68% of Catholic women regularly rely on birth control methods like the pill or female sterilization. Moreover, new polling by the Public Religion Research Institute shows that nearly 60% of all American Catholics believe that health plans should cover contraception. http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/obama-catholic-problem-article-1.1018773?localLinksEnabled=false |

POLYGAMY
Where Romney's family fits in
Romney's ancestors were among the early Latter-Day Saints who practiced polygamy, according to an MSNBC report. His great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney , brought a group of Mormons to Mexico to escape "not persecution but prosecution ... (for) whatMormons called 'plural marriage.'" His father, George Romney , was born in Mexico, but the family left to escape the Mexican Revolution. Some English-speaking Romneys stayed behind, and their descendants still live across the border. Could Romney practice polygamy in the future? At the time Official Declaration 1 was given, it was ambiguous in context as to whether the church's leaders meant what they said or were trying to divert attention from their continued practice of polygamy, according to Mormon anthropologist Daymon Smith. Groups of "fundamentalist" Mormons like Warren Jeffs believe the latter and continue to live as they believe God intended. Romney is not a fundamentalist Mormon and would be excommunicated if he became one. The commentary included with that declaration in the LDS scriptures, however, explains the reason the church was halting the practice of polygamy was because ithad been declared illegaland the church faced theconfiscation of its assets. It does not recant the practice or apologize for it, and it goes on to say if God hadn't commanded them to stop they would not have. Do Mormons teach polygamy today? Polygamy (as a part of"eternal marriage") is taught as an explanationfor how only people whoare "sealed" to a person of the opposite gender for eternity can enter thehighest kingdom of heaven, when women are considered innately closer to God and will be in heaven in larger numbers. Because of this, polygamous relationships are considered not only acceptable, but essential,to have in the next life. Beside that, if Romney's wife died, he would be able to be eternally"sealed" to another while still being sealed to her, giving him more than one wife in heaven. If he were to die instead, his widow would have to remarry for this life only, unless she got her sealing annulled -- something that requires the approval of the highest church leadership. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints , Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney is not allowed to have more than one living wife. Not only is it illegal in the U.S., it is also grounds for excommunication from the church, which Mormons believe denies someone access to their family and to the highest heaven in the next life. The current Mormon policy of excommunicating people who take more than one living wife, however, is outlined in Official Declaration 1 of the Doctrine and Covenants, received as revelation by the LDS prophet Wilford Woodruff in 1890. Before that time, LDS church leaders frequently took multiple wives and taught of the "numerous evils" of monogamy, as well as preaching against the "immorality" of legal prohibitions against polygamy .

I think that if all parties are OK with this lifestyle and the taxpayer is not footing the bill why should anyone care what people choose to do. At least they are all working together for the good of the family. In today's society we have women who have several children by different men without being married and the same with one man fathering several children by different women and not supporting them. If we can accept this lifestyle than why not accept one man having several wives legally. I have never gotten the reason that this would upset people. Of course I have never understood our society not accepting gay marriage either. There is so much hatred in the world I celebrate the fact that people love each other no matter what way they choose to do it. |
