QUOTE: The More you Watch, the Less You Know Americans who watch Fox Cable News are more likely to hold at least one of three major misconceptions about the Iraq war, according to a major poll done by the Program on International Policy Attitudes of the University of Maryland in College Park, and the polling firm, Knowledge Networks based in Menlo Park, Calif. The misconceptions are that Saddam had anything to do with September 11; that the US has found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq; and that the Iraq War was generally supported by other countries besides the US. I watch Fox and I don't believe any of that, of course I watch all the news stations really and piece together my own truth. |

Looking for Law Enforcement!
QUOTE: Hmmm..my opinion is that law enforcement men are the most honorable men out there..I SO wish there were some single ones out there to flirt with!! :) Any suggestions?! :) This isn't necessarily true, while there a good ones out there, there are also bad ones (of course). I have two cousins and a friend who all dated cops and they have vowed never to again. I don't know the exact reasons, but I have heard various stories of cops flirting while "on the job" and making solicitations of sorts. That even happened to my ex many years ago in her previous marriage, during a domestic dispute where the cops were called, one wrote his cell on a business card and told her to call him and gave her a wink. On the other hand, my uncle used to be a police chief and is the most dedicated family man I know. |

QUOTE: Sarcasm is a wonderful thing. I took one of those fancy little quizzes one time to see how sarcastic you are, got my results back: You completed the quiz "How Sarcastic Are You, Really?" with the result Abnormally Sarcastic.. People can't tell if you're angry, happy, or constipated. You probably make jokes that no one understands and you think it's because they're stupid and not because sarcasm isn't always funny. You might be joking all the time but since it's in your nature to test different levels of sarcasm in people you probably don't laugh much. Everyone thinks you're smart but also kind of an *** too.. Helloooo ladies!

Pop star Michael Jackson has died after suffering a heart attack, it has been reported.
Media reports have said the star, 50, was taken to hospital in Los Angeles after he was found not breathing in his Holmby Hills home earlier. Celebrity website TMZ said 911 operators received an emergency call about 12.12pm local time (5.12am AEST). "We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the website reported. Jackson is believed to have gone into cardiac arrest and paramedics performed CPR on him en route to UCLA hospital. The website quoted family members as saying the Thriller singer was in "really bad shape." "We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says 'he is not doing well.'' the website had earlier reported. Jackson was reportedly planning a comeback and was living in Los Angeles while rehearsing a series of 50 sold-out shows in London, the LATimes has reported. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics had rushed to the singer's $100,00-a-month rented home near Sunset Boulevard to find him not breathing, according to the newspaper. **edit: Just saw there was another thread already that was moved to General Discussion

N KOREA - THOUSAND FOLD
QUOTE: russia nad china are within the range of n korea rockets as of yet they do not have a rocket to reach the u s "The report on the potential launch preparations came a day after South Korean media reported that an intercontinental rocket had been moved to a new launch facility in northwestern North Korea. The reports, quoting unnamed intelligence officials, said the missile was similar to a long-range rocket that North Korea fired April 5 and was believed to be a Taepodong 2, which has a range of more than 4,000 km, meaning it could reach as far as western US territory if technically perfected." QUOTE: N. Korea has no energy resources, very little food, little education, and a complete fruitcake for a dictator. VERY little education, ant the people are very poor. What's interesting is that most of the people have cables run out to their little hovels they live in and at the end of these are a single speaker. The speaker constantly talks about "their great leader" and how great North Korea is and how evil America and South Korea are. They can't turn them off or change the volume, it's just constant propoganda throughout the day. Crazy. QUOTE: We gave them what they asked for but now they want more and are developing long range missiles to carry out their "treats". So are they going to send us twinkies and ho-ho's via missile? QUOTE: This leader is mad. Mad I tell you. He doesnt care for life...anyones....after all..he has nothing to lose. He is about to die anyway. He's not mad, he's just ronery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCmqzrFL26M

Fun with the SWAT team
Here's a fun little event that happened not too long ago, just thought I would share.
So after my divorce I stay with my dad at his how for a couple of months until I get my own place (of course changing my address for my mail both times). A few months later my brother comes back from living in Orlando and stays with him for about 4 months. One day my dad is at work and my brother is home by himself. He was upstairs on the computer when he heard a knock at the door. Actually it wasn't so much as a knock as it was a fist pounding on it. He went down stairs and the pounding came again. He yelled "Alright I'm coming!" and opened the door. Immediately the person on the other side started to push in, he instinctively thought home invasion and shoved back. The other person yelled "Open up, police!" so my brother stopped pushing and they rushed in. Officer: Do you know (my name)?! My brother: Yeah, he isn't here. Officer: Do you know where he is now? My brother: No, probably at work. Officer: Do you know he's wanted for murder in Atascosa county? My brother: Umm...no?! At this point they are ransacking the house and generally making a mess looking for me. Supposedly I killed a guy for some reason or another (he was probably snoring!). After they realize I'm not there they regroup and go over their paperwork. My brother is still talking to them and happens to glance at it and says "Ummm...you guys know you have the wrong address right?" They stare at him for a sec before dismissing what he said, but radio back and double check. Sure enough the address wasn't even close, not to mention the guy they are looking for is 43 years old :P They realize they have the wrong place AND the wrong guy (same name though) and call it off. My brother is outside and he sees the SWAT van and 4 police cars, then 6 guys come from the bushes and the backyard. I can just imagine if I would have been there, that would have given the neighbors something to talk about seeing SWAT leading me out in handcuffs! LOL Oh, and my dad was super pissed when he got home (he's a neat freak). |
