Sorry to hear the news.

Having worked in a Hospice, best advice. Be there for them. Talk and visit the way you normally would.

Have found this quote helpful

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair, of confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is the friend who cares."
Henri Nouwen

My uncle is dying of cancer. I guess you just make them as comfortable as possible. I am grateful it is going like this, than losing them right out of the blue. Just treat each day like it is their last.

Technically, we all have a terminal disease... life. We're all one day closer to death the moment we're born. It's a morbid way to look at it, but sometimes it helps to look at life that way.

If we all knew what day, month, or year we were going to die, would we love any stronger? Would we laugh that much harder? Would we experience all that life had to offer?

If I were in your shoes, I would just appreciate all the time I had with this person, cherishing every moment, especially knowing that they chose to spend their last days with me.

Love them the way you have all this time, if not more, for sharing this experience with you... good or bad. Peace be with you both.

Just be there for them and offer them love and support and words of kindness. Anything that you need to say just say it to them.

And please always remember to say "Its never goodbye........we will meet again".
