I own the DVD set of Firefly, and Serenity was an excellent film. One of the best Sci-Fi films I have seen in a long time, and their really wasn't anything graphically amazing about it. It was just a good story, with a great script with one of the best (Josh Whedon) directing. I wish more people would have appreciated Firefly. It was an amazing show.

I saw Serenity and really enjoyed it. Good writing and good chemistry between the actors

THEY KILLED WASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved this show, even though I didn't even know about it until the DVDs were out. I have both the series and the movie, and loved every minute of it.

Still kinda wondering about the economic of transporting ~50 head of beef from one planet to another, but

It was definitely killed before it's time.

The show was great, the movie great. The only thing that drives me nuts is that there was one HUGE unanswered question from the series that was not dealt with in the movie. ARG! It makes me insane that I will never know now.

LMAO. Yeah, that episode was called "Jaynestown". I died laughing.

I don't have TV so haven't seen these. Would you recommend watching the series first or will the movie stand alone?

Is there more than one season to the series?

Only one season, 19 episodes (I think). And, you can watch the movie first and not be lost, but if you watch the series first, it will get you more into who all the characters are.

I LOVE the Serenity movie and I didn't have any idea it was from a tv series when I watched it.

Great episode drinker
I wish they'd make a new series (but somehow disregard the events of Serenity... you know why  )

I think that the point of the bodycount in Serenity was so that the fans wouldn't beg for a series that Fox would continue to fail to support.

I'm thinking especially of Wash. They could have gone on with the others gone, but he was the soul of that ship.

When you watch the movie, a character dies. If you haven't seen the show, you will say "Oh, he died. That sucks.". If you have watched the show, it has a much larger emotional impact. I think the movie stands on it's own, but the TV show and then the movie and you get a much deeper and richer experience.

I heard they are gonna do a flash back comic to tell about Book's past.

I could see comics and novels being done, but we'll never see it in production again (hopefully this jinxes it and it gets brought back).

Joss Whedon has said that he doesn't believe that Firefly will ever come back, but he isn't done with the Firefly universe.
