How do pilots keep their girlfriends or wives? Would any woman stay faithful to his husband while being gone all the time? I am not talking about captain of the big planes that are making thousands of $$. I am talking about new graduate student pilots that have girlfriends and wives or maybe a family. Most people think its easy but the reality of it is new graduates have to get those flight hours and that means a lot of flying around and lots of "no time spent at home with your girlfriend". How does it work?

You have to pick a girl who doesn't need constant attention. When you are home, make sure you are 100% focused on her. Some women would find that to be the perfect arrangement.

Well the FIRST thing in all of that that jumped out at me is the "that are making thousands of $$". First of all I don't see how what somebody makes has anything to do with this.

Secondly, It is called Trust. If you love one another, have a life and a good, happy one together, a man can go fly off ANY place and not worry nor would the woman worry what the man was doing. Yes, in this case it might take logging a great many flying hours to get where you need to be, but, that is bettering yourself and your family.

Oh I think it's so possible to keep them...you make time for those who are important to you...even if you are busy. And if it's real and she loves you, then she will stay faithful to you! The bigger question is how does a girl keep her male pilot from cheating on her while he's flying around and "gone" all the time...

I think it has to be a matter of understanding, love, and trust in one another... Hope this helps!

There is such thing as communication.
they can stay in touch and she can travel
where he will be staying sometimes, when there is a will
and real love and trust, there is no problem

I find that most "pilots" have other jobs to go to. All those "hours" arent really that much and they can fly any time they want. Most people work 8 hours a day......I havent met too many pilots that fly 8 hours a day unless they are flying the larger planes.

You make it sound really easy... i wish its like that for most of them. How many Hours of flight do they already have? Have you known them as airline pilots or as new graduate trying to get a decent job and a decent schedule? do they fly 8hours a day or couple hours a day and just do other work?

Captain of big planes make more money and are seniors which means new pilots get the schedule the senior captain do not want to fly. That was my point there... but that is even if you have hours needed to qualify for the newbies position.

My sister's husbands brothers both are pilots for major airlines. One isnt married but has a live in gf and the other is married with children. It all depends on the trust and what kind of relationship you have. There are cheaters in every type of job.

I did talked to a lot of them... Their answers are the scariest things you ever heard(beside the ones that married flight attendants). It is possible to do it and some of them have done it. Most of them have actually done it. the scary thought is to have your girlfriend or wife leave you because of quality time. I am just freaking out
