“We the People are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts,
not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert
the Constitution.” -Abraham Lincoln

“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and
causes me to tremble for the safety of my country; corporations have
been enthroned, an era of corruption in High Places will follow, and the
Money Power of the Country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working
upon the prejudices of the People, until the wealth is aggregated in a
few hands, and the Republic is destroyed.”-Abraham Lincoln, shortly
before his assassination

_______
maybe it's a condition of becoming older...but I find the wisdom of our
past leaders more important today than at any time in history...there
are revisionist theories that the assassination of Lincoln was directed
by the international bankers in retaliation to Lincoln's issuance of the
"greenback" monetary policy. before you scream "conspiracy theory" do
some reading..it is interesting. huh

funlover..what is next ?..to me it is a return to a feudalist
society with no middle class..the lower class will return to a form of
slavery that will serve the 8 corporate / bank interests at the top and
their selected royal families...there are no images of any kind of
utopia in a one world government system.

It's scary. Things don't look good to me. Not only are the corporations
gaining control, what happens if we get hit by a disease and our working
class can't work our economy will collapse.

Hi daVinci and everyone...

I think more likely than world government is a global network --
oligarchy -- of top corporations and their support allies, like a clutch
of academics, of lobbyists, of public relations types, and
technologists.

I'm afraid that only our national governments can stand up to this and
bring under control. If I am right about this, we should worry, because
our governments (and not just that of the US) are caving in all over the
planet. Indeed, some governments are saying to the global corporations:
Sure, settle in make yourselves at home, pay us some money directly and
we will protect you through our legal sovereignty (protection from
information disclosure, extradition, banking regulations, etc.)

It is not a good situation.

I agree Oceans..but you left out an important factor..it appears the
corporations also have the military as part of their hierarchy...that is
the part that scares me..and depresses me to be frank...our military
leaders have sold out...

You may be right, daVinci. And if they are not, they are part of the
government....

Certainly here in the US the corporations suck up to the military -- all
kinds of full-page ads, 'saluting' our troops and pledging them all the
equipment they can use. Of course, these ads appear around the time a
new military spending bill is being considered, or a new large DoD
procurement is in the works.

Boeing, Lockheed are among the main companies that do this. I'll look at
the ads more carefully and post more names as they pop up.

well as long as the people keep saying that it does not matter what i
think or my vote don't make a difference things will never change

this country has turned into a self instant gratification if one
can not see results yesterday then it must not be working

where would the civil rights movement be if that is how people thought
back in the 1900s

also a throw away society from plastic cutlery and paper bags
to unwanted children (i will be attacked on that one)
and spouses

the first thing to do to destroy a society is to destroy the family unit

when the family is gone then the community fellowship will go next and
on n on it will go

just a thought

but hey what do i know

adj4U...you are right...the family unit is all but gone...and the middle
class is almost buried..what will it take to wake the people up?...I'm
amazed ....we're all on drugs apparently..unable to realize what is
happening to us..
