I have a camera with me everywhere I go. I take pictures in stores when I see something interesting - BUT: If I go in a store, my camera is in the car. If I see anything I want to photograph, I ask to speak with the manager or owner to get prior permission. It's all about 'professionalism'. I've never been denied permission to take pictures if I ASK before I start shooting. Try it ... remember, the store is private property. They don't HAVE to let you take pictures - it's a privilege.

You should have taken a picture of her while she was screaming. Just not saying a word, just point the camera at her take a picture, and walk away.

Maybe she thought you were taking a pic of her handling "sausage" & didn't want the pic to go public.

When I visited other countries and tried to have my picture taken in a Louis Vuitton shop, etc. I was discreetly told not to take pictures in a couple of shops. In my opinion, some stores and malls have rules against taking photos due to legal consequences that could be brought against them, kinda like a copyright thing. Another theory is that they think about the possibility of you working for one of their competitors and stealing their ideas. In any case, they should tell you that in a polite and discreet manner. If they screamed at you, you should make a complaint about it.

We can't????? I always shop like that, I take a picture of something cute and send it to my daughter. Then she texts back whether or not to buy it for her or myself if I am trying something on and no one is in the fitting room to ask.ohwell

I have always taken photographs of items I think my son or daughter might like when I go shopping, I've never been 'told off' before.Write to the store manager and ask what is the reason for not allowing customers to take photographs.
