Hopefully the show will have given Tate and Gage good exposure and we'll start seeing their work in more films.

Yeah, that's the only consolation in the last episode. Hopefully, they will be snatched up by people who can actually recognize genius when they see it.

I've been watching some old TV detective shows on the Best Of TV Detectives - 150 Episodes

Checkmate, this was an early 60's series that starred Anthony George, Doug McClure, and Sebastian Cabot. They run a high end detective agency. Just going from the 2 eps included it's a great series(one episode guest starred Peter Lorre)

The Adventures Of Ellery Queen, from the early 50's, the episode included is from when the show aired on the late DuMont Television Network. Definitely very low-tech.

I'm The Law, starring George Raft as a New York detective. Produced by Lou Costello's brother Pat.

Colonel March of Scotland Yard, this is a British series from the early 60's. Boris Karloff is great as the title character. Would love to see than more than 1 ep of this.

Mr And Mrs North. early 50's spin-off of the 1940's Gracie Allen murder-mystery-comedy...very entertaining, in some ways the show is like I LOVE LUCY as a mystery series. Barbara Britton and Richard Denning have good chemistry. 16 episodes included.

Them.

A 1954 American black and white science fiction film about man's encounter with a nest of gigantic irradiated ants. It is based on an original story treatment by George Worthing Yates. It was developed into a screenplay by Ted Sherdeman and Russell Hughes for Warner Bros. Pictures Inc., and was produced by David Weisbart and directed by Gordon Douglas. It starred James Whitmore, Edmund Gwenn, Joan Weldon and James Arness.

One of the first of the "nuclear monster" movies, and the first "big bug" film, Them! was nominated for an Oscar for Special Effects and won a Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing. The film starts off as a simple suspense story, with police investigating mysterious disappearances and unexplainable deaths. The giant ants are not even seen until almost a third of the way into the film.

Tarantula (1955)

Professor Gerald Deemer has been working on a special nutrient to help ease a predicted food shortage that is expected to come with the increase in human population. His experiments have been moderately successful but there have been some failures as a result. One day while he is gone two of his colleagues inject themselves with the nutrient with disastrous results and die a few days later. One however goes mad and injects Deemer with the formula. During a struggle, a giant tarantula injected with the formula escapes its cage and grows even larger and starts to attack cattle as well as human beings.

Thanks....I also recommend:

The Miracle (1959)

Teresa (Carroll Baker), is a woman who leaves the convent to find one specific man. Teresa falls in love with Michael (Roger Moore) a dashing Englishman in the British army that is fighting Napoleon in Spain. She opts for leaving the cloister to find her love. Meanwhile, during her absence, a statue of the Virgin Mary comes to life and takes her place in the convent, hence the "miracle" of the title. Along her journey, Teresa meets and eventually marries a handsome gypsy (Vittorio Gassman) who comes to an unhappy end. Widowed and grieving, young Teresa next becomes enamored of a bullfighter (Gustavo Rojo) whose luck in the ring ends tragically one day. At this point, it would seem the cloister was a better offer, but Teresa continues in her journey to find Michael.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend another Carroll Baker film- Paranoia(aka Orgasmo) from 1969. A vastly underrated Italian psychological thriller.
