More than 50,000 people have been killed in Mexico's war on drugs since December 2006

More than 50,000 people have been killed in Mexico's war on drugs since December 2006, when outgoing President Felipe Calderon launched a nationwide military crackdown on organized crime. Most of the deaths have been from turf battles between rival gangs.

How many of those 50k+ were innocent people who were caught in a turf war? How many innocent lives have to be lost, before we admit that you can't win a war against human nature. Some people want drugs, why stand in their way? All that we have accomplished with the war on drugs is to make some thugs rich and get thousands of people murdered.

Agreed........if people want it, they'll get it. No matter the cost as this article clearly demonstrates.
