I had the oppertunity to watch an old man pass today. It wasnt a bad
thing but he told me something, that made me wonder. he said: " We don't
choose our burden's, We don't choose our death"
" What if we could" then he passed. My question is, Would you?

I disagree... the way we live our lives pretty much grants us our
burdens and death. Smokers are burdened with the addiction and shorten
their life expectancy and may also be choosing cancer as their death
wish. That is just one example.

LOL Morena... I hear ya there. I too am a smoker who has tried to quite
more times than I have fingers and toes... that makes more than two
dozen times. That is part of the reason why I used smoking as an
example. I could have when with unprotected sex where the person could
have the burden of an STD or AIDS and have chosen that as his/her death
wish... or an unwatned pregnancy where the child could be a burden and
in some cases, make you wish you were dead. Don't get me wrong there, I
love children, lord knows I have enough of them.

i agree that we don't choose our burdens or our death. some people do by
their lifestyle but that is not how i took his statement. alot of people
have problems in life that they didn't create.

I took it more like King did. I did not ask to fall down some step and
become disabled. Now if I got hurt like this from breaking horses you
could say I asked for it as getting hurt is part of that job and I have
a few scars from it. So this burden was not of my own making. If I could
choose my death it would be to go out quickly like a car accident or a
bullet between the eyes. I have watched to many loved ones die slowly
and wish that on no one.
