I keep wondering how people fall for the kind of stories these guys cook up. Most times their english is far worse than mine. people dont fall in love in few minutes. Truth is internet scam has taught the west one thing; we dont live in heaven. so don't just trust people easily even if money is not involved. These scammers take advantage of your "too trusting" way of life. Always expect evil from every good, at least thats how we reason in Nigeria, that way you stay cautious in all your relationships. As for those mails and fake admirers, we meet them too but from the first chat I will decode who you are for real and block you. Truth is they always love you more than you love yourself. i guess it is the same in most of the asian n african countries! We learn fast how to not trust n how to keep an eye open even when you sleep! This is not something we should be proud of!! I so miss the time of my childhood when i used to believe everyone i met n knew that all my relatives n friends liked me. Didnt know about the tricks to check if they were acting like it! Take all i have n give me my peace n innocence back (by the way, my worth may very well lie below one grand. Ha ha) I know. I wish I was in high school. Those were the days. When everyone liked us and had faith that we were going on to be something important and great.

In my teens i dreamed once or twice every now n then. But that is just because i wanted to talk with this hottie in my college. But now i know that i must never break my back trying to buy land on moon for her. All i ever wanted was to learn a lot about physics n math. And i am on my course. Yeey. It is just the human idiocy that hurts n beauty or success doesnt change a darn thing in most! |

You can weed a lot of those out by enjoining the forums. You can also read every post they ever made by clicking on the "Posts: #" beneath their picture on here. Helps a lot :-) If you are looking at a profile is there a way to see their posts if they are not on line or in the forums? Take their member number (hover over their username, then right click, then copy from Properties on the the drop-down menu OR take it from the search box) and insert it where the XXXXXXX's are here: http://mingle2.com/forum/show_posts_by_user/XXXXXXX This brings up their post history. Didn't work, I have tried. I don't even see a user number on people profile. If you follow the instructions above it will work. When you are on their profile, the address box above will show their member number as the last digits. And again, hovering over their name on the forums, then right clicking brings up a drop-down menu, you select 'Properties' then copy their member number from that as an alternative. |

Is so sad to always hear this about africa there are few good once here trying to find love but the odd once will make us all look the same but tell you what just be careful and you will meet a good one who will not even want dime cheers.
I'm so sick and tired of pouring my heart and intimate thoughts out to people who are sitting in an internet cafe in africa, within a week they are devoting their hearts and undying love to me if only I could send them money thru money gram thru a middle man...is there any real men out there looking for something real???? |

Scammers prey on the broken hearted, big hearted, Sad hearted. And they don't care that they harm or scare anyones heart. They just want your money... I have been scammed before and I have found out how to tell who they are before it goes to far.
And it doesn't even have to be a scammer. It can be one that says the want forever and don't really want it. |

Posting in the forums would probably be a good way to identify a lot of the scammers since we see so much of it. It is a better way to meet real people even if some of us are pretty quirky.  The problem with that is that hardly any women in my area go on the forums. I'll tell you what else sucks. I'm not even getting mail from scammers. |
