Osen

dang I forgot to give a description *giggle* Gomen ne!!

http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/osen-episode-1/

Osen is a drama series about Handa Sen (Aoi Yu) - fondly called "Osen" - who is the okami (proprietress) of Isshouan, a long-standing traditional restaurant in the lower part of Tokyo. In this world of fast food, konbinis and take-outs, Isshouan is one of the few restaurants in Tokyo that still serve Japanese food in the traditional slow-cooked style. While the rest of Japan seemingly goes through modernization, Osen takes great pains in preserving traditional methods of cooking which is demonstrated by the high quality of food she serves. Together with her able kitchen staff including an eager-beaver novice cook Ezaki "Yocchan" Yoshio (hilariously played by Japanese actor / idol Uchi Hiroki) and skilled but under-appreciated chef Takeda Tomekichi (rising star Mukai Osamu), they fight the pressures of commercialization and stand firmly for what they believe in.

I'm more into Asian horror, martial art/action, and the Japanese Pinku films, but, there are few dramas I do like.

Ikiru (1952) is an excellent, and very moving film about an office worker who after finding out he has terminal cancer, decides to find meaning for what little of life he has left.

Boku Dake no Madonna

http://drama.watchanimeon.com/boku-dake-no-madonna/

Kyoichi Suzuki is an average college student in his junior year. Although he\'s not in one of the top universities, he\'s satisfied with his college life studying architecture. Kyoichi left home and is finally on his own, living in a beat-up apartment in Tokyo. However, this apartment building is home to some out-of-the-ordinary residents, who are always bugging Kyoichi. His next-door neighbor hits Kyoichi up for a loan when he finds out that Kyoichi just got paid. His other next- door neighbor who works at a nightclub, always calls Kyoichi, demanding him to come pick her up, because she\'s so drunk. Other than that, Kyoichi is satisfied with his normal life, until he meets a girl one day...
Kyoichi comes home from his part-time job as a night-time security guard. He returns to his room to find a girl sleeping on his bed-a girl he has never seen before. She looks a bit older than Kyoichi, and is quite beautiful. Kyoichi can\'t believe his eyes.
Kyoichi closes the door, and goes outside to the entrance of the apartment, to make sure he\'s in the right apartment and room. There\'s no mistake. He returns inside...but the girl is gone.There\'s nobody in his room. Was it just his imagination? Was he hallucinating? Kyoichi can\'t understand what just happened.
Later, he discovers that something is missing from his grocery bag-the Chinese noodles he was looking forward to eating are gone...
This is how Kyoichi first meets Surumi Kataoka. After they meet, Surumi continues living in Kyoichi\'s room.
She points to an apartment visible from Kyoichi\'s room, and says that the guy living there dumped her for another girl. Surumi says that she\'s waiting to check out the girl she was dumped for. Kyoichi doesn\'t know if he ought to believe her or not.
All Kyoichi knows is that while Surumi is such a charming girl, the expression on her face is sad at times.
Kyoichi is not that disappointed about sharing his room with a cute girl. He starts to think that this lifestyle may go on forever, until one day, Surumi suddenly disappears-just like the day she suddenly appeared. All she leaves for Kyoichi are unanswered questions.

Tatta Hitotsu no Koi

I fell in love with Kame character ...this story is awesome! He's one of My favorite Japanese actors.

http://www.gooddrama.net/japanese-drama/tatta-hitotsu-no-koi

A story of pure love between the son of a man who runs a ship repair factory beset with financial troubles and the well-bred daughter of a national jewelry chain store owner. The backdrop of the story is Yokohama.
If you feel you have lost the purity of your soul by watching stories about womanizers seducing impudent women, or by carrying out calculated maneuvers in your own love life, here is a story for you. A boy and a girl from highly different social backgrounds meet and fall in love. Their love, of course, faces a lot of obstacles. The setting is in Yokohama, a modern port city known for its romantic atmosphere. Hiroto Kanzaki (Kazuya Kamenashi) works hard every day and night for the survival of a small ship repair factory (inherited from his father) as well as the survival of his mother and younger brother, who are suffering from health problems. Living such an underprivileged life, Hiroto has forgotten how to smile. In contrast to him, Nao (Haruka Ayase) is the daughter of a popular jewelry shop owner in a fashionable street in Yokohama. She attends a prestigious exclusive women's college and grew up cheerful and blessed with affluent love. From the moment Hiroto meets her, his closed mind slowly opens up to Nao, who is so innocent that she utters whatever she thinks. Their three close friends, who are also 20 year old's, play an important role in their developing relationship.
The scriptwriter is Eriko Kitagawa, who earned the nickname "The Goddess of Love Stories." This classic love story enables those who are in the same generation to feel empathy, or be envious of the characters' lives; and the rest, who were once 20 years old's, to reminisce about their own "Love of My Life."
