Topic: Yet another executive order!

So we need a King to force health care at unaffordable rates on us, propping up insurance and Big Pharma companies with mandates?!

Penalties and taxes, corruption and fraud is all that will come from any of this as the public is buried under red tape and forced innoculations!

You'll notice the age brackets are only those subject to the higher tax brackets, and the working public in general!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for AIDS and HIV testing, but this "mandate" is gov't over-reach whether it is good or not! If this can be mandated what next?

Enforcement of mandatory HIV testing for “all individuals ages 15 to 65 years” will be overseen by the US Preventative Services Task Force, in coordination with the Department of health and Human Services (DHHS).

Obamacare will fall.
It has no chance of ever being implemented.
You're seeing it right now.
Obama's trying to delay part of it's mandate for businesses as it's not ready and it never will be ready.
It will be repealed in the end.

Stupid congress that passed this bs into law without ever reading it in the first place should all lose their chairs and be made to stand as punishment!

there is no mandate in the material offered for citizens to be tested

the EXACT wording is,,"Based on these and other data, recommendations for HIV testing and treatment have changed. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now recommends that clinicians screen all individuals ages 15 to 65 years for HIV, and the Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines for Use of Antiretroviral Agents now recommends offering treatment to all adolescents and adults diagnosed with HIV.

"

just like they recommend certain vaccinations, and certain testing like mammograms or prostate cancer,,,,these are not MANDATES,, by any stretch,, there are no consequences (legal) to anyone who doesnt choose to do them

obama care, health care reform has to do with people being able to PAY for their services,, with people having INSURANCE

that has nothing to do with MANDATING what services people must receive,,,thats a persons private choice and continues to be,,,,

The executive order signed by President Obama pertains to the HIV Care Continuum Initiative and the HIV Care Continuum Working Group, the latter consisting of federal officials.

The executive order doesn't mandate anything from individual citizens or the private sector. The executive order pertains only to things that are within the President's jurisdiction.

In short, there is nothing controversial about the executive order.
As I see it, this thread is nothing but a feeble attempt to find an excuse to bash President Obama.

I don't mind people bashing President Obama when he has done something worthy of bashing. However, I object when people look for a reason to bash President Obama, because the latter is a failure to "love your neighbor as yourself".

Obama care will fail, of course. It was never intended to be a viable healthcare. When it fails, just like Roosevelt, Obama will be long gone. Just blindly love your leader and move on. Next!

Question, if say everyone with HIV died simultaneously would that kill off the disease?

I don't know if that's wishful thinking or just ignorance. "Obamacare" won't fail. It's a plan that's already in place in Massachusetts. The only reason it's being delayed at all is because all the Republicans are doing all they can to stymie it. Come 2014, when the public exchanges open up, most people will see lower prices for insurance. Come 2015, when the mandate kicks in, we'll all see fewer uninsured people.

Sure, many people in Congress should lose their jobs, but passing the Affordable Care Act isn't the reason.

Honestly, if Obamacare was really going to fail, the Republicans would let it fail. They could ensure winning elections for decades to come from it. They'd win the Presidency, for sure.

Instead, all the republicans are crying crocodile tears about how it's doomed, before it's begun, and crying about skyrocketing costs, as millions of Americans see $billions in rebates and savings. That's in spite of the fact that most Americans are still covered by their group plans under their employee health insurance, and that's not going to change, but more likely increase after the ACA provisions for further tax breaks to companies who cover health insurance costs.

Are you going to wise up in a couple years when all the provisions take effect and all the benefits of the ACA are accepted?

The rate for my health insurance went up after the ACA was signed into law.
So, tell me again how the ACA is supposed to benefit me?

If your rate went up right after the ACA was signed, then it's because the insurance company wanted to cash in while they could, before caps on the profit margin they could take. Otherwise, it could be that your insurance was one of those "catastrophic coverage" with huge deductible and low limits of coverage, then you're paying more because your old policy was crap and is now not allowed.

The ACA will benefit you because with more people paying into the system, hospitals won't have you pay for all the people who don't pay, now. When hospitals charge less, they can lower their charges, letting insurance companies pay less, and with the caps on their margin, they'll pass the savings on to you. Your insurance bills will be lower, just like they are projected to be in New York. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/17/health/health-plan-cost-for-new-yorkers-set-to-fall-50.html?pagewanted=all or in Montana http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/health-insurance-rates-in-montana-under-aca-maybe-not-so/article_88bc5b9a-ce99-54ca-95b2-cd9458fc836f.html?comment_form=true.
