I heard on the news that some parts of the U.K. are having severe and devastating flooding.
Knowing several of our Members are from the U.K. My thoughts and prayers are with any of you and your family or friends that may be affected by this.

That's why I gave my workers the day off? No point in opening 2 roofs up today, with the way the weather has been! Hopefully, it'll be better by tomorrow though?

There are absolutely no words adequate to describe the emotion and sorrow of this news. All of my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected across this great land. God rest the souls of those who are no longer with us and comfort those left behind. Strength and protection to those heroes left with the selfless and unimaginable task of risking their lives for the mere hope of finding a father, a mother, a sister, a brother, a son, or a daughter alive. On this day hug the ones you love a little longer than normal, do not pass up an opportunity to say I love you. Show appreciation to all those assigned to protect and serve, thank a fireman or an EMT, these are the heroic individuals that do not know you but will willingly loose their lives to give you yours. Salute those in our military, they protect our way of life that can no longer be taken for granted.

Unreal, apart from the Thames area, Somerset is in deep trouble :S
I've had to evacuate once myself, horrible.
Wish everyone well

So how's the situation in Scotland, Lars??

I am sorry to hear that. Are you ok and back home now?
Was your home damaged?

I hope so. It looked dreadful from what I saw on the news.

That was in 1995, Betty. We had a serious prob back then in the Netherlands. And yes, our house was still safe, but it was a dire situation. The army had plans to blow up part of a dyke, so our entire area would have flooded. We're talking some 8 meters of water, meaning our brand-new home would've almost completely gone under. Only to relieve pressure elsewhere: an industrial area which was valued more than our area and town. So we were very very lucky!

Yes that was very lucky. Glad it all worked out. Losing a home must be so horrible. I really don't know how people cope with it, but somehow they do.

So sorry to hear of the fury of Mother Nature ravaging the UK.

I see the UK and others in the area as long and loyal allies to the USA and will request our leaders afford as much possible assistance with all possible haste. And donate to Red Cross in the name of all UK Mingler's.

While we would be glad to have your unwanted rain in our barren drought stages I have lived through flooding and know how frightening it is so deepest sympathies. I have yet to meet a Brit I did not admire for their determination and solution oriented bearing and I have great faith they will overcome.

If we can help tell us how. I have no problem relaying messages to friends and family here if that is a need.

We are praying for you. God Speed.

Thanks flowerforyou. The farmers have it the toughest. They had to evacuate their animals to another area, and their crops are all ruined, so many of the farms won't be able to go back into business. That means the supermarkets will have less meat, less fruit, less veg, etc. It's mainly the south.

That means prices will skyrocket.
So happy you are safe.
