Birmingham probes Muslim takeover of schools 'plot'

London (AFP) - Birmingham launched a probe Monday into an alleged hardline Muslim plot to take control of schools.

The city council said it had appointed a chief adviser to examine at least 200 complaints as the investigation widened to 25 schools from an initial four.

Concerns about how some of the 430 schools in the city were being run first emerged last year in a leaked anonymous letter which outlined how to implement what it called Operation Trojan Horse.

The letter, which credited the alleged plot with forcing a change of leadership at four schools, gave instructions on ousting and replacing uncooperative headteachers and school governors.

"We have an obligation to our children to fulfil our roles and ensure these schools are run on Islamic principles," the letter says.

"We... are on our way to getting rid of more headteachers and taking over their schools."

The letter continued: "You must remember this is a 'jihad' and as such all means possible to win the war is acceptable."

Birmingham has a large Muslim population. Some 22 percent of the city's residents identified themselves as such in the 2011 census.

Since the letter emerged, whistleblowers including former staff have come forward, making claims that boys and girls were segregated in classrooms and assemblies, sex education was banned and non-Muslim staff were bullied.

In one case, it was alleged that the teachings of the firebrand Al-Qaeda-linked Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki -- who was killed by a US drone strike in Yemen in 2011 -- were praised in an assembly.

- Self-governing academies -

"As more schools have come forward than the ones named in the Trojan Horse document, issues have arisen about behaviour in schools, the way in which schools are run," city council leader Albert Bore told BBC television.

"It is about, generally speaking, the behaviour of the schools, what happens within the schools, the school day, the school assembly, the way in which children in schools are organised."

The allegations focus on a category of schools known as academies. Established from 2000 onwards, they are state-funded but are self-governing and independent of local authority control.

Bore said it was "part of the frustration" that the city council had no remit in the schools, which answer to the national Department for Education.

"We do not know who's on the governing body (of the schools)," he said.

The council will publish its findings before mid-June.

Education Secretary Michael Gove has sent inspectors to 15 Birmingham schools in recent weeks.

On a visit to Birmingham earlier this month, Prime Minister David Cameron spoke about the issue, saying: "We will not accept any school begin run by extremists or promoting extremist views."

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said Monday that schools should not be allowed to become "silos of segregation".

"I am very concerned whenever I hear allegations that schools, funded by the taxpayer, become vehicles for the propagation of particular ideologies which divide young children and pupils off from other people in society," he said.

"The Department for Education is taking this very seriously."

The real problem is taxpayer dollars, from two points. First, the schools should not be run by taxpayer dollars. Second, there shouldn't be taxpayers.

But this is still feudal England with a democratic monarchy, mob rule with an elite figurehead descended by the right of god. Great society that has nothing that can't be defended with a gun.

But I guess so many countries have proved that right is mightier than might so as what used to be a vast empire is but a little island in the north sea. And even that is showing additional signs of right as Scotland struggles to gain freedom. Wonder if Southern Ireland will determine that would like to be like the North?

We are still greatly respected around the world. We as a nation have given the world more than most nations, not bad for a little island in the North sea.

Really, where? In the BBC? In the British mirrors? The only joke bigger than the US is England. And don't tell me you haven't notice all the middle fingers Europe has been waving England's way in the one finger salute.

And what has England been noted for throughout history. Pillaging countries around the world, let's look at the list: united States, India, Pakistan, Jamaica, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, Palestine, Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo, Brunei, Suez Canal (Egypt), and so many more all culminating in Falklands Islands where so many British men discovered love and returned to England with their war brides and Argentina had to start over again with new lambs.

Britain retains sovereignty over 14 territories outside the British Isles, which were renamed the British Overseas Territories in 2002. Some are uninhabited except for transient military or scientific personnel; the remainder are self-governing to varying degrees and are reliant on the UK for foreign relations and defence. The British government has stated its willingness to assist any Overseas Territory that wishes to proceed to independence, where that is an option. British sovereignty of several of the overseas territories is disputed by their geographical neighbours: Gibraltar is claimed by Spain, the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are claimed by Argentina, and the British Indian Ocean Territory is claimed by Mauritius and Seychelles. The British Antarctic Territory is subject to overlapping claims by Argentina and Chile, while many countries do not recognise any territorial claims in Antarctica.

And now the only thing funnier in that part of the world than Tony Blair would be David Cammeron. Of course both of them are pikers compared the George Bush and Barrack Odumbo.

You don't even like your own Country so I don't expect you to like mine.
The only joke is here is extreme views.
I could name a hundred things the UK has given the world but I can't be bothered to argue with a self righteous extremist.
You criticise almost everyone that posts a reply in the political posts like you know the answer to the worlds problems.
It's easy to sit in an armchair and criticise. Get of your backside and do something about it if your not happy.
But no, you won't will you, it's easier to log onto Mingle and argue with everyone else.
Run for president, if you think you can do a better job.
What's stopping you

And another assumption that is absolutely incorrect, I love my country and the freedom my forefathers gave us from England, not once but twice.

And I have lived in your country, have you ever lived elsewhere, don't think so. I love the country of England, such a beautiful place. I still have many people their I respect but the masses there are even worse than the united States. England prior to 1066 was one of the most freedom loving countries ever. Now all you have is the insane feudal system installed after the invasion of 1066. So bad it led to the Magna Carta in 1215, of which it has been violated every since.

The only joke here are the neat little slogans with little intelligence to actually determine their meanings. Little understanding of the world around them, so they must accept what they have been told.

You could name a 100 things but you fail to name even one because you can't be bothered. Yes, that is the problem, feel free to ridicule but can't be bothered to even justify the ridicule. Why, because their is no justification. You stated previously the respect of England around the world, I posted the counter with the countries listed. I forgot to add Scotland and Ireland to the list of countries not too thrilled with the British.

And yes I do post rebuttals of just about every opinion that is not in truth. Of course my rebuttals are normally provided with sources to back the rebuttal, but they are never rebutted. Perhaps the self righteous extremist would be better seen with a mirror. And it is your proclamation of my knowing every answer, I do believe I have responded to that many times, I don't, but I do know where to find the answer. As Henry Ford once stated under oath during a trail as to his competence to run his own affairs, why did he need to have knowledge to all the trivia crowding his mind when he had more important things to think about and he knew the people with the little answers. What your theory portends is the rise of those capable of trivia regurgitation but not capable of thinking.

And I do do things, first is to defend my right to freedom here which means challenging any that attempt to post lies. Now posting an opposing view isn't a lie so long as the principles are sustained. But most here don't post opposing views, they post some opinion without the conviction of principle, must less sources that show they even care to be informed, one way or the other.

And second, I am very well versed in the law and take responsibility for my own welfare. I am the freeman so instilled by the founders of this country. I am one of the freest people you will ever meet, even thought you wouldn't recognize it if it should happen. I am the Cliven Bundy, just on a scale not needing all that backing yet, yet being the operative word.

As a free man, I am free to log onto anywhere I desire. I am free to post anywhere on the site so long as I format my arguments to respect the owner's property, thus it's rules.

And your closing is a joke, why would any free man desire to be a slave? You little understand the entire concept of freedom. First, to run for a elected position you must declare yourself a "qualified" elector. To be qualified is to be diminished. Diminished means to give up something, your rights.

Second, I am a freeman and just an "elector". As an elector, I do not choose one to represent me, I represent myself, the concept of a republic. However, should one of your elected representatives usurp one of my rights, I will deal with them personally. It is never pleasant for them but always a thing of amusement for me. the real funny part are the idiots, they just can't understand what happened to them. Just look at Cliven Bundy for the reality of it.

There's three great things we have given the world. The list is endless and far too many for me to write on here.
You see the diffrence between you and me is, you talk the talk, but at least I'm tryig to walk the walk.
My life is dedicated to cancer research, hence walking the walk.
What have you dedicated yours too.
It's easy to Google facts and figures which you seem to do quite regularly.
It's easy to sit and criticise every topic that anyone posts.
You tell me to feel free to ridicule, when anyone reading your replies can see clearly that you are hell bent on ridiculing anyone who has anything to say.
You seem to try so hard to sound educated. Trust me, it's clearly not the case in point.
I think what you don't understand is that I'm a very proud Britt.
So the minute I see anyone who dares to ridicule her I will hit back, with my passion and not silly facts that I've gotten from the internet.
As much as I don't like you, I am a compassionate person and I can't help but feel sorry for you.
That's not meant to sound patronising, it's just my feeling towards you.
Be assured, that if I see any replies on here from you that dares to poke fun at my Great Country I will hit back at you.
You have my word.

Even in America, where a community organizing socialist can become president...

An autocrat worshiping conspiracy theorist has no chance..

Well well well
That was impressive.

Well, well, well back at you, and thank you. Now you have entered a stake in the game, very good. Have a stake in the discussion makes it interesting, beats snide remarks that get rude responses. I accept the challenge, so let's begin.

Darwin

"Charles Robert Darwin, (12 February 1809 – 19 April 1882) was an English naturalist and geologist, best known for his contributions to evolutionary theory. He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding."

Captain Cook

"Captain James Cook, (7 November 1728[NB 1] – 14 February 1779) was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy. Cook made detailed maps of Newfoundland prior to making three voyages to the Pacific Ocean, during which he achieved the first recorded European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands, and the first recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand.

During the Seven Years' War, Cook served in North America as master of Pembroke. In 1758 he took part in the major amphibious assault that captured the Fortress of Louisbourg from the French, after which he participated in the siege of Quebec City and then the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759. He showed a talent for surveying and cartography, and was responsible for mapping much of the entrance to the Saint Lawrence River during the siege, thus allowing General Wolfe to make his famous stealth attack on the Plains of Abraham."

Sir Isaac Newton

"Sir Isaac Newton 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1727 was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely recognised as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. His book Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy"), first published in 1687, laid the foundations for classical mechanics. Newton also made seminal contributions to optics and shares credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the invention of infinitesimal calculus.

Newton's Principia formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation, which dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries. It also demonstrated that the motion of objects on Earth and of celestial bodies could be described by the same principles. By deriving Kepler's laws of planetary motion from his mathematical description of gravity, and then using the same principles to account for the trajectories of comets and other phenomena, Newton removed the last doubts about the validity of the heliocentric model of the cosmos."

There's three great things we have given the world. The list is endless and far too many for me to write on here.

You have named three great men that have offered much to the world, but those are but men, not a nation. What if any or all their parents have decided to migrate elsewhere, would their accomplishments have been changed, no they were men of the mind and that mind would have been so irregardless.

But Captain Cook, now there is what I am talking about. The man had a marvelous talent as an explorer and cartographer. But that was the man. But the second part of his accomplishments, the war faction and the conquering of Canada, that is the British empire and one of he prime attributes England has ever offered the world.

The other greatest contribution to the world was actually by a German, named Rothchild. Mayer Rothchild sent one of his sons to London, Nathan Mayer Rothschild (1777–1836). "Another line, of the British branch of the family, was elevated to British nobility at the request of Queen Victoria, being given the two hereditary titles of Baronet (1847) and Baron (1885)." A fablous legacy of the British Empire, the establishment of the world's destruction, the central bank.

And the problems in the middle east, how about those wonderous crusades and the slavery of the middle east. Throughout history, France, Spain, England and to a lessor degree Portgal have conquered and enslaved all parts of the world they touched. And these united States once we had come of age, were enticed by England to join in the riches of the world, ours for the taking.

And while men have been great, the masses have been ignorant and the governments have used that ignorance to bestow a slavery unto the world, and yes with your Britain leading the way.

But I will give England credit for one thing, for the lucky few that get to attend one of the great Universities of England, as it was many years ago, they received education as it was meant to be. It was hanging around Cambridge and studying under the tutelage of a PhD from Oxford that I learned the true meaning of education, reading for a subject. Actually Harvard before it was bought by the corporation was modeled after that system.

Oh and one other thing I am personally thankful for the British providing, the modern concept of the common law, the Magna Carta in 1215 and so many other versions. And of course John Locke and William Penn.

And I'm not even going to go into the second most evil thing England has lent to America and the rest of the world, the illustrious BAR association, the maintainers of slavery.

So ride your high horse all you want, it will never change history but by staying on that high horse, it will never change destiny.

You see the diffrence between you and me is, you talk the talk, but at least I'm tryig to walk the walk.
My life is dedicated to cancer research, hence walking the walk.
What have you dedicated yours too.
It's easy to Google facts and figures which you seem to do quite regularly.

Walk what walk, seems like all talk and one very seldom though out and delivered in a concise manner. There are no argument, just innuendo and conjecture. No, it's not easy to google facts and figures. First you must be able to put together the thoughts of an argument, then you google to research and confirm the facts and figures. It is the basis of any argument, establishing the validity of the argument. But that seems to be lost on most, having to actually have a valid argument.

Cancer research, now if you mean big medicine or big pharma, then you make me laugh. The only research there is for profits at the expense of the misery of the patient but this is not about cancer.

Now you got one right. For the most part, it is easy, very seldom very challenging just for the reason stated to this point.

Yes, I am absolutely free. Especially free to challenge any and every reply here. Most think it ridicule because they are using conjecture and innuendo and have no defense of their replies. They just post any stupid crap. Then believe it is ridicule when their crap doesn't hold up. Well, this is a forum and is for discussion. If you don't have the knowledge to discuss, I would suggest asking questions and attempt to learn

Sound educated, but I am educated. Over my many years on this earth, I have studied and mastered many subjects and life lessons. Even now when I am in my retirement years, I am completing my mastery of law. I even gave credit for that to the English above. I also credit my hero, Thomas Jefferson that gave additional validation to the concept learned from the English college system.

What part of I lived there do you seem to have a problem understanding? I fully understand, probably more so than you do. Most Brits are very proud, the old stiff upper lip they are taught from birth. But that is the problem, pride and no thought.

The actual concept of man not being created equal just goes against the grain. It is that concept that has entitled the nobles to be free and everyone else subject to their rule that has been the determent of Europe, especially England.

I really don't care whether you like me or not, I'm not here for popularity, I care less. As to feeling sorry for me, I refuse to accept it so save your sentiment for some bleeding heart. I do not believe you are trying to be patronizing and accept it for one of the few thing you say in earnest.

And in closing, I would suggest that you start studying and putting together your defenses because I guarantee more negative comments about England. The banana republic of England is a huge part of the problem here in America and I have dedicated my life to correcting it in any manner I can. And posting here isn't part of the equation, just a little enjoyment on the side.
