What you've achieved throughout your lives, is very admirable. I understand that it never went without difficulty along the way. Give yourselves a massive pat on the back. I could never do what you did. It takes a certain amount of bravery. It was a pleasure watching the live tv ceremony, yesterday. I hope you can all be proud of what you did to help. God bless

Never was so much owed by so many to so few.
Winston Churchill.

For those who were there and for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, thank you.

"You will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped, and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely....The free men of the world are marching together to victory. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory. Good luck, and let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."

General Dwight D. Eisenhower giving the D-Day order on June 6, 1944...

To all who served, thank you...

Pfffffft. That hasn't even got anything to do with the topic. So you decided to enter the thread to make yet another snidy remark. And you're older than me, so what does that say about YOU being on a dating site? I'm not looking to date, though. Keep up your bullying. You're pathetic. And I'll be deleting you from my friends list. You're obviously not as genuine as you might have seemed in your apology.

As for everyone else, thanks for the kind replies.

Never have seen this speech before Leigh, very nice though.
I remember a very profound one from school called 'a letter to Mrs Bixby' by Lincoln if I remember correctly.
I'll have to Google that now in fact
