I know I'm going to get killed for this but I think honesty is the best way to go here. When I read 'hard working single father' which will almost always have something in the profile about family being a priority in their life, I already know I will never be better than 4th best in his life. Job, kids, and family (parents, etc) are always going to be more important than me. That's too much to sacrifice for me.

I agree with this. I am a widow, so My Marriage was not given up on or broken. I want to be someone's #1 again, and I don't think that is wrong. However, I KNOW it will probably never happen. The relationship I was in for 3 years recently showed me that. He (no matter who he is) will never, ever put me first. And yes, I feel robbed of that feeling even though I AM on a healthy track moving forward from the grief and depression of losing Hubby.

I'm right there with you. I have my children 24/7 and sometimes it's hard to get away and enjoy "big kid time". Being a single parent is the hardest challenge I've faced so far in life, and that put s a lot of women off. I'm not looking to place a potential partner on a priority list, I'm looking to find someone to share in the adventure. That, and I'm tired of waking up next to my cat, his breath stinks.
