I don't know how other people feel about the things that are going on in the world, but I think world war 3 is coming and is coming sooner than we think. if and when it comes I want to be able to keep my children safe so I've decided to start prepping, and ill be buying a generator. is anyone else out there prepping like this and if not do you think its an over exaggeration. :)

You are right on. I've been prepping for several years too.When I walk out my front door and see guys with assault weapons walking up and down the street asking people for id, where are they going, names it's time to head for the mountains.

I wouldn't bother.
Some water, canned foods, medical supplies, a couple guns and enough ammo to carry. Have to remember. Anything you have someone else can overpower you and take it. If sheite hits the fan and I survive, I'll remember who the anti-gunner, preppers are and go take their chit and use them as shields. OR, you can convert to Islam and hope they overlook all the prior sins against Islam will be forgiven. Do you have at least two Muslim males who will testify in your defense? If not, do you prefer beheading to stoning?

I think the end has been coming since the beginning
I think if its my time, its my time, so I'm not going through excessive measures to prepare for a potential war Im more concerned my kids will die at the hands of another citizen than a war, so I prepare them to be aware of their surroundings and the company around them,,,,,, and to expect and be prepared for adversity but hope for peace,,,,,,, and to live lives they can look back on with a clear conscience whenever their time does come,,,, |

That's gotta suck. Being in a country that limits the means to protect yourself, a petite woman and your kids.
Especially when England is saturated with hostile Muslims. Might need ta start looking for a manly man who will protect you like I would. |

I have already seen the aftermath of three wars, so I will probably just stand pat. Wars are all about territory and racism anyhow(WW2 and Viet Nam). I am of the opinion that I will just wait and see. It would be nice to have friends in case something happens to you and that you would have family close by. I just don't really need the extra stress. JMO

I've been prepping for some time and when the SHTF all you can count on is what you can carry! The last thing you want to be is "locked down" to a location in that event. Natural disaster is one thing, conflict is another! A generator in the time of conflict is simply a billboard to let people know your home and probably stocked with what they desire. You can't run them indoors you know. Small portable hand-crank devices, dry goods/foods, silver/gold, seeds, and a few "life straws" will get you further in conflict, but if you don't have a means to defend yourself you'll end up a victim anyway. |

It would be something to see you telling that looter with a gun to your head that it "must be your time" and not worrying about it.... or as you are starving or dehydrating from thirst in the turmoil should you make it past the initial onslaught unprepaired. Sure sounds like you have no idea of the nature of survival or have ever been thru a disaster of any kind! That's just foolish nonscence you spouted above...... PURE DRIVEL! People become animals when the chips are down..... Katrina was just a TV movie to you it would seem..... Natural disaster is bad enough, but it's usually over fairly quickly, covers a small area so others come to help or provide needed goods, and you can rebuild. War and conflict is a whole nother animal to deal with! You will be the squirrel that didn't gather nuts for the winter, begging others to help when it sets in! Foolishness is your enemy, not your friend! Volunteer for a disaster relief crew...... you'll change your mind! Maybe a visit to Gaza? It's not just TV entertainment! |

If Islam is successful in conquering the Mid East, I could see where England would be easy pickings.
The sun would finally set on the British Empire. I have enough to sustain me. Lacking sufficient clean water is about all. Like I said. If it were total chaos, I would choose a victim who I was pretty sure was well stocked and (Borrow) what I needed to move on. Resistance would be futile and trust no one but yourself. |

It's not just TV entertainment! not being a doomsdayer is nor foolish,,, all the dangers I or my loved ones have faced in our lifetimes have been from other americans I have survived two sexual assaults by being aware and using my head I have survived two break ins by also being aware and using my head if the time comes that that is not enough, so be it, but its served us well so far,,,,our oldest family member just passed recently at 100 years of age,,,, a war cannot be 'prepared' for, in my opinion, with the advances in technology and weapons these days, if the time comes for a WAR where America is a target,,, there is nothing I can 'stockpile' that will keep me from being killed,,,,,all that survival is being aware of ones surroundings and using THEM to survive,,, I need to survive TODAY, and that's hard enough without investing in panaceas assuming they will save me from some POTENTIAL GLOBAL threat,,,,, |

And your "instances" were not during a catastrophic event like a lawless collapse or natural disaster. Either way, you were lucky, not wise! Can't prep for a war huh? Tell that to those in Gaza and Iraq, and how lucky they are that they survived! Oh wait! They're either fleeing with what they can carry or trapped and starving with a fear of being beheaded or bombed. Best to stay in their burnt out homes and starve or die of thirst until the invaders or looters come for them I guess huh? Of course death is not the worst that could happen....... ask the 6 million Jews who were told they would be safe and free |
