It's a bit like the Goth thing but the emoting is also a spammy thing that people on the internet do with the huggles and <3's etc.

I went to a Emo concert with a girlfriend back in high school, 10 years ago. So I'm basically a expert. From what I saw Emo is when you have the entire world in front of you and have so much to be happy about and you just take that and ignore it all, you then hate everything and sing songs about how sad you are about one failed relationship at the old age of 17. Cause who would know better how horrible the world is other than a teenager? You then eventually grow up and apologize to everyone for being Emo. That was just my experience with it though, we were all just wacky kids.

I am not sure about this but think it is different then goth still not sure ... but thought they had a very sad disposition about them selves and the world ... and may listen to music ...where can be depressing ... but mainly I thought they where always on the mentally edge of suicide... like cutters and other ways to hurt yourself through depression ... can't say they always go for sympathy becouse some do commit suicide ... guess a matter of opinion and their circumstances and some may grow out of it ... I remember the happy bunny stage not sure if that would be counted as Emo or not ... might be ...
