Anybody interested in sharing tips/thoughts about their *guaranteed* winning picks on a weekly basis BEFORE they're due? I just sent off mine for my (straight-up, no spreads) Pick-em, Last Man Standing, and Fantasy League pools, but I can change 'em if somebody *knows* something I don't.

Oh, yeah...and the 9ers ARE gonna straight-up win!!!

Maybe in a couple of weeks. I need to get a better feel for the lay of the land this year...

Even when I was a young gambling man I never bet the first or last week of the season. Back then there was much more stability and consistency in the season to season fortunes of individual franchises.

That said, my lock of the week would probably be Denver at home.

Fair points, water. Because I don't follow college football and pre-season is useless, the first couple of weeks of the season, I'm flying by the seat-of-my-pants on who the winners will be.

The 3 pools I'm in require a buy-in at the beginning of the season, so I'm in it and can't do the pick-and-choose buy-ins other leagues offer.

The majority in my Last Man Standing pool went with Denver as the 'for-sure'. I thought about it, figuring others had studied the rest of the season for each team (yanno, since you can only pick A team to win once and A team to lose once), thinking we'd all sink or swim together. I bucked it and went with the Bengals, simply because according to the analysts, they're a 93% lock and Denver's "only" an 88%...and hoping to save my Denver win for later in the season.

Who knows - maybe Denver'll lose and Cinci'll win...and I'll be at the top of the heap!!!

Hope to share tips and thoughts with you - and others! - throughout the season.

I really like Minnesota getting 1 1/2 at home against Detroit this week. I also think the Giants getting 3 1/2 at the Eagles are a strong play.

The Pick 'Em pool I'm in is a straight-up win/lose...no point spreads to cover. I took Detroit and Philly. I HATE picking games with rivals...no matter the records or the hype, ANYthing can happen.

In THAT pool, I've yet to win a week...though I have come close.

My fantasy team's big name players included RGIII, Arian Foster and Doug Martin, so I got screwed the first few weeks with injuries. With dropped players and changes, I was able to score my first win last week and things are looking up from here.

I'm one of about 12 people in the Last Man Standing that hasn't used one of the 'two strikes, you're out', yet.

THAT'S the one I really wanna win!!! Big bucks riding on that one!

Well, thank you everybody for all your help. ~hrrrrumph~

Through week #9 in the NFL, my fantasy team is 3-6-0, though I do (currently) hold the record for the most # of points scored in a single week. Knocked my son out of THAT title, the very next week after he'd taken it. The very NEXT week, he took the title for the fewest points scored.

I've yet to win a weekly Pick 'Em pool...one week's win will pay for my whole season's buy-in, dammit. Apparently, to even be in it, you can incorrectly pick AT MOST 2 games per week...the closest I've come is 3 incorrect.

BUTTTTTTTT...in the Last Man Standing, which is worth 775 big ones to The Winner, I am one of 4 remaining, with only 1 strike (2 strikes, you're out). Out of the four of us remaining, 3 of us are in the same boat...only 1 person has 0 strikes so far.

I took Denver this week (playing in Oakland); it looks like most people in these types of pools are taking Baltimore...so MAYBE a couple of more can get knocked out?!?
