Yesterday, I flipped on the news on my satellite dish and CNN was gone, replaced by MSNBC and Al Jazeera (HLN was gone too). There was a note that it was removed by Turner.

They have been for some time. Nobody wants manufactured or false news reports like CNN is know and noted for.

They had less than 3% of the national market share.

They are still pushing their international propaganda tho

As election week approaches it seems our POTUS isn't doing any better. When he appears on the campaign trail (only for local races now as the senators and congressmen/women don't want to be seen or associated with him) it seems the crowd starts walking out as he takes the stage. It's happened in several places now.

Guess people figured there's no sense in staying if they are only going to be lied to anyway..... so what's to miss?

Why Dish subscribers can't see CNN today

Gone along with other Turner owned channels like Turner Classic Movies. Typical contract disputing, happened before with AMC, and before that ABC.

CNN's ratings have been so low the contract dispute is probably about the fact that CNN is not worth the money being paid to put them on the air. CNN has laid off much of their staff.

"The slimming of the ranks at Turner Broadcasting has begun.

Confirming earlier reports, the media conglomerate has reportedly cut positions from its CNN and HLN divisions, several sources reported on Tuesday.

Capital New York reports that 300 positions, or 8% of CNN’s workforce is being cut, affecting employees in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., New York and Los Angeles. Roughly half of that amount took a voluntary buyout, but the remaining staff have been laid off. The cuts are happening today and tomorrow.

Industry sources said that production staff on several of shows were being dismissed, including HLN host Jane Velez-Mitchell.

Mashable reports Christiane Amanpour‘s New York-based staff has also been cut.

Turner is also cutting its entire Entertainment division, the unit that covers awards shows and red carpet events, industry insiders said. Capital New York reports that this includes top entertainment producers."

I saw Carney a while back and he was just as arrogant as he was being the face of Obama. He had just as little respect for the truth also.

At some point, the numbers just don't work and they have to stop broadcasting. No audience means no income.
