So you think Monsanto (with the help of govt) seizing and corporatizing farms, driving farmers out of business and the homes and lands they have owned and worked for generations, taking control of the nations food supply for experimentation on the masses is a good thing then?

Surely we can feel _sorry_ for them (the prostitute who got aids) without being a part of the problem... the problem of glorification of victim-hood and as you say the 'delirium of self pity'.

I mean, for me the line is drawn when a person insists that they are not at all responsible for their circumstances. But we can still have compassion and caring for people who make bad decisions.

The difference lies in what we do with our compassion - do we encourage the person you care about to feel self pity and blame others? Or do we try to teach them personal responsibility?
