..lol.. how much time do you spend with your kids.?.... apart from weekends.... during the weekdays.
. my kids spend a lot of their time.
gaming with there friends online.
. are they have their friends over.
.. both my boys have their own rooms.
. fully equipped with... every electronic device a preteen child could dream of....
... now this keeps them occupied and out from underneath my feet..
.. I mean after all ,.. by the time I get home and then make supper. do dishes tidy up the house make lunches.... I find the only time I really spend with them... is when I M twisting there arm's to come do their homework... now for the most part this works... well !that is I'm okay with this arrangement.. but sometimes I feel "guilty".. like I should be trying to spend or make them spend more time with me..lol.....

. I'm just wondering ! do any other parents out there feel guilty...
. beat themselves up for not spending enough time with their Rugrats...?

.

If I'm not working I'm with my boys. I miss out on a lot because of work though. I miss them so much all day long. I always feel like I could do more.

Every parent feels guilty in some way because we want to spend as much time as we possibly can with our kids. And at times that is impossible

If you were out drinking at a bar or doing something self serving, then the guilt is deserved

But your not, you are working.. for them... to make their life better.. to bring them up right. Help them grow. To take care of them

And making them do their homework...well, they will appreciate and remember that to.

While they may be in their room playing their videogames.. they know where you are.. and they know they are safe and taken well care of

because Dad make sure of it

you are a good father

.. you know what..
I never really looked at it from their point of view.... but yeah you're right..
. they always know right where I am..
... now if they could only figure out where their coats and backpacks go...
..lol...

Involving them in and teaching them some of "your chores" may not be the most efficient way of getting them done initially but is an excellent way of spending quality time together and help create the sense of family. Just remember enjoying what you are doing is a great incentive to learn

Fancy, I see you like finding old threads and reviving them... laugh

Well, I will plan things to do with the kids including chores but I let them have their time to be kids doing what they want. But I refuse to let them have electronics (other than phone) in their rooms. You want to use a computer or play PS4 or watch a movie, or whatever, do it in a public area of the house so we know what you are doing and saying to others if online. I also encourage them to invite their friends over so I know how they interact and what they are doing. Watching the kids "hang out" with friends is just as good as spending time with the kid one on one in my opinion. Granted my kids are in High School now so one on one time is a little more limited but I try and do a Parent/ child date night once a month where we go eat dinner and talk about whatever they want or we will go do an activity they choose.

My two cents.

You can call me 2e.

FYI, I am not saying it's a bad thing at all. Just noticing that you have revived several older threads... smile2

Yes so whats the magic formula for retrieving threads that have slipped into oblivion off the page?

Is there are search feature for old threads?

All mine have left home.
I miss them dearly but life moves on and you have to go with the flow.
When my kids were growing up. I would spend as much time as I could. We did plenty of great things.
I also gave them space too because that's important.

Enjoy what time you have with them
They grow up so fast.

Your a great dad No1.
Your boys are good kids.
