Religion is like a mothers womb that gave birth to everything spiritual in this world.And society without religion is nothing but a herd of wild beasts,that although endowed with reason,is always ready to slaughter and destroy. I dont believe we can have an advanced civilization without notions of God,souls immortality and future life.But thats just my opinion.

i do not agree with your reasoning .. we have all seen how religion can be and is used as a means to slaughter . ^^^This is spot on. More folks die violently in the name of religion or because of religious beliefs than maybe ANY other cause...and it never stops.

religion: the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. so, is my belief/worship of God important to me,,,yes and congregation with others of similar belief, especially in times when such belief is being attacked more and more often is also important to me,,,

what is indecent in humans is not the fault of religion,, it would exist within any ideoloty allegiance to a country, allegiance to an ideal or a symbol,, allegiance is the name in which people do awful things religion can be something people feel allegiance to, but its not the root of their indecency towards one another,,,

People will use whatever they can find to slaughter, pillage and plunder. Ever since the first caveman found a bigger club.

Blondey111,actually i am deeply convinced that those who killed in the name of God,would also kill without God. Because we humans,are the only cause.And the only battlefield is our heart. So if there is any war that could be led in the name of God,than thats the war against the dark in us.

Spirituality have birth to religion. You get religion when man molds spirituality to fit his own ego needs

Culture and ideologies are artificial boundaries erected to seperate us from each other. Divide and conquer. That's why I love psychedelics, they disolve bounderies. Btw, My religion is shamanism, there's no faith neccisary, as it's experienced based.

its a language and we have words to describe language and humans we call breaking mans laws 'crimes' we call breaking those laws or guidelines of a religion 'sin' sometimes crimes are also sins(murder, theft, etc),,, much more rarely sin is also a crime(in western countries at least)
