I divorced almost 12 years ago, seven years ago I dated inter-racially. That was all new to me, but had a glorious time to know someone of another race that was their 1st time to date inter-racially also......I still date in and out of my race. What are your thoughts of doing the same? I would like to clarify something...For those who thought my first post was funny and for those who thought it was whatever slaphead means.... Thirty years before my grandson was born, interracial dating was illegal...That got changed in 1967....My grandson was born in 1993...He lives in North Carolina...For him and the majority of his friends your question would seem strange, especially considering the fact that he and his friends just call it dating... ------------------------------------------------------- I would like to clarify something.. no body 'slapped head' your post. But there is a HUGE difference between being born in 1993. And 1956-57, like the OP. I distinctly remember, REAL race riots. And know for a fact that crosses were burned on people's lawns in Pennsylvania & New York (North of The Mason Dixon line) in 1975. And people were being lynched in the south, long after that. With the OP being 4 years older than myself, he may remember or witnessed even more horror. So... I don't think it is a strange question. Why someone would think it is funny, who knows? Younger, or not American or just simply irony, over the way treads were going over percieved racial upheaval. Or even perhaps, that it is NOT another overseas thread of " I need / want a white woman "  ( I have seen years of those). Could be refreshing or funny.. just to read a white man, looking for a nonwhite American, for a change. I wish him well. But he may not post about again.  . |
