I don't want to deactivate my account. I want to totally delete it. How do I do that?

At this time members can only deactivate their account and not delete it.. We recommend for members to remove all info. Once you deactivate your account no one can go to your profile. All they will get is that you have deactivated.

Thanks! Not what I wanted to hear, and I think you should really provide a way for people to delete it.

they should, and if they have any members using this in Europe they are required by laws there to provide that service, surprised they haven't added that yet because of this fact

HOW DO I DEACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT?
You would go here to deactivate your profile:
http://mingle2.com/user/show_settings

You may want to go here first, to stop emails:
http://mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings

And to: http://mingle2.com/user/edit_photos
to remove your photos (optional..you may want
to leave them in case you return :-)

From mobile devices:
http://m.mingle2.com/prefer_mainsite
http://m.mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings
http://m.mingle2.com/users/edit_photos

Best of luck :-)

The provided Information is not a sufficient solution. In Europe, where I'm living and where your service is offered, you have to delete my account and all my data on request. Please delete my profile immediately.

The accounts can only be Deactivated not Deleted. Once you have Deactivated no one can see your profile nor go to it..

" under the meaning of the EU data protection directive. "Data controllers" have special obligations in the EU - including the responsibility to remove data that is "inadequate, irrelevant or no longer relevant".

if the data thay these websites collect is in their own servers they are REQUIRED by LAWS in EU to REMOVE it...deactivation and deletion are NOT the same....

Facebook had a deactivate option as well but in order for them to LEGALLY operate in the EU they were required to offer a delete option. If someone located in EU wanted to tie mingle2 up in court they would have every right under the "right to be forgotten" law.

unless you're telling saying that deactivation means all data is removed from the mingle servers...which we know isnt the case
