Yeah, as a minor follow on to the original question...

I worked my tukas off doing chores for my ex. As the marriage declined, when she couldn't complain about what I DIDN'T do, she would complain instead that what I DID do, wasn't done exactly the way she wanted me to do it.

Hence my earlier response.

Bottom line, you can't BUY the happiness of your mate with you. Not by taking out the trash more, not by cleaning the garage, not by emptying the cat box, no by doing more dishes.

It's really part of the same reason why you'll see a woman go for the exact kind of guy she claims to despise: if she loves him, whatever he is or does will please her. If she doesn't, no matter how perfect he is in every way, he wont.


But don't let that stop you from doing more chores. That garbage wont empty itself, and I KNOW the cat box wont either. I tried.
