women mainly, although men probably do too, but i don't tend to look at men's profiles

but what's with the pictures of you and ( presumably) an ex? although it could be a family member, but most people will presume it's and ex.
or it could be that it's a partner they lost to the grim reaper?

but if not, what's the idea of it? surely an ex is just that? and i can't see how you think a photo of you with a man would attract men? unless you're into swinging and dogging n stuff?

seems to be quite a lot of them around, i think it's weird and a bit creepy.

Hello giantowl,

Yes, I do agree, I also often wondered what that's supposed to tell us.

I don't understand why one would want to advertise themselves with their ex...or anyone for that matter. Just show me the real YOU, not everyone in your little world. slaphead
I also have a BIG problem with peeps who post pics of their children/grandchildren.
Granted, a lot of those are now the scammers. slaphead

Dogging laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

But to answer your question, if a guy has a photo with his ex, I do find it odd. They are a 'ex' after all. noway noway noway

what's wrong with dogging? the word, not the actual activity lol

yeah kids too but that isn't too bad as they are obviously proud of them and want to show them off, but not on your profile pics please :)

I think if a chica (or dude) has a great pic, she simply
does not care who else is in it..fish, pets, aliens.

When I look at a pic I always remind myself..'That person
has put up the best pic they have.'

Sometimes I have to laugh :-)

Many people claim that's their best pic so they use it, I wonder why they can't just crop the other person out, doesn't seem very hard. On another site I'm on, this guy messaged me with a kid in his photo. I don't date guys with kids, he claims the kid isn't his. My question is, why put the kid in the pic, unless he's using it as a prop or something, which some people do. Sort of manipulative, but I guess it happens. But yeah, photoshop is your friend, it's very easy to crop pictures nowadays.

I'm not sure but there was a woman that put her profile up for rating here once that had on it that she's still really good friends with her ex and she believed that people would think that's admirable how she doesn't just cast people aside when a relationship doesn't work out.

There are also women that are so dumb or full of themselves that they would probably post pictures of themselves with a male friend and not even bother that guys viewing their profile would have a problem that there's a picture of them there with a guy.

Maybe another possibility is that they're someone that they met on here and they decided to take a picture to remember the occasion. Maybe they're just showing you what they look like when they're on a date with somebody. Maybe it's to tell you what league they're in and to not even bother if you're not as good looking as that.

what's the idea of it?

Please feel free to come up with the perfect picture standard for websites to enforce via the military.

I put forth the idea of going down to the local police department or DMV and having 5 mugshots taken weekly or maybe daily to keep the profile current.
1 of only the face, forward.
1 face turned to one side.
1 full body face forward.
1 full body turned to the side.
1 full body turned to the side while standing on a scale with a clear height and weight indicator, maybe holding that little mugshot sign stating their job, income, years employed, current marital status, and living arrangements (with mom? ex?).

And everyone has to wear a black jumpsuit.

That should make it equitable, even the playing field, and keep people from whining "why the bathroom pics? Why the selfies? Why the fish? Why the pic of the car? Why the pic in the car? Why the kids? Why the pets? Why the sunset pics? Why the hunting? Why the smoking pics? Why the drunk pictures? Why the slutty pictures? Why the ex/sibling/family/friends? Why the cartoons and stupid card saying thingies? Why the cleavage? Why not more cleavage? Why the shirtless pics? Why the duckface? Why the pic from above the head? Why the genital shots?"

Other than that, it seems fairly obvious.
i can't see how you think

You don't have to.
That's not the purpose of their profile.

I see many men using pictures that used to be of them with a woman, and they simply cropped her out. But you can still see their hair and part of their body very close to him slaphead

I've even seen a guy use a wedding picture, and I would've sworn he was the groom slaphead
And then he contacts me? FO! Lol.

If someone can't even be bothered to take a decent new picture of himself -as a single, I'm not interested.

Basically what Soufie says:
It's the best they can do, and in those cases their best isn't good enough for me

my pictures have other people in them, but they are all friends i go to rugby with, i try and crop most people out of them, but sometimes you end up with some hair or an arm that you can't quite squeeze out.. but i'm talking brazenly posting a picture of them with another person who looks suspiciously like an ex
