My brother read Revelation 22:6-12. There is your question. Focus on vers 11. 11> He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. Essentially, "Be All That You Can Be" Are you telling me to Join the Army? I was a Navy man, Decades ago. I am not Unjust I am not Filthy I don't need to be Righteous and I have no desire to be Holy. How is What if I don't see the world as coming to an end? What if I don't concentrate on bad things in the world? What if my impression of life is in harmony? What if I see beauty in all things? What if I don't see the world as needing changed or saved or fixed? I'm not afraid of the future. I'm not afraid of death. I'm not afraid of the diversity of people. I don't need saved from anything because nothing is threatening me that I have no power over. I don't need to be guided because I actively choose my path. I live in contentment. I have a positive attitude about life. I see 'Good Things' all the time. making me Unjust, Filthy, needing to be Righteous or Holy? Just because I am not afraid of the world I live in is construed to be a bad thing? I don't need to be saved from anything except the closed-mindedness of religions. My life is not full of worry. I don't stress about death. I live in a positive attitude. I am responsible for the acts I do. I can accept that responsibility without needing to be forgiven for my mistakes. I need my mistakes and my turmoil. I learn from it. It makes me who I am right now and frankly, I like me as I am. Exactly the point I am making. Around my place, churches come to the door and the first thing out of their mouths is how the world is falling apart. My response is always that I don't see it. Then they stop knocking on my door. My nephew has a pit that is gentle as a kitten...unless you're aggressive. |

I love your message! The text is filled with life and truth. I think, not everyone who comes to my door is sent by God, because God has given us a free will, so they do what they want. I don’t need any signs, because faith is about what I believe, not about what I see. God’s Word, The Good News is the eternal Word, for everyone, for every generation, for every century. It speaks to every generation and the message is still the same. The Holy Bible is not a newspaper. No. It is a constant Word. Which means, throughout all times believers constantly are waiting for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Constantly thinking of being in the end times. Constantly! The Bible is full of happiness but it also full of despair. What is disturbing is that a lot of people use despair to try to incite fear. Its a mind game where they use fear to try to get you to embrace love and happiness. They think that people exist in fear, alot of people do. When someone turns to religion out of fear and expecting protection and comfort but live in fear, there is no comfort. Not true comfort. Comfort becomes something they are told they should have. I find comfort in my existence, it doesn't hinge on belief in religion. I acknowledge the good things in life. I give no power to fear and dread. My acceptance of God is not a condition of benefit or reward. It isn't a protection from fear and dread. It is a personal choice. When religions try to convince you that you 'need' them, they are changing the parameters of your unity with God. They are making assumptions on how you experience life then they try to convince you that those assumptions are true. |
