Yes, the location of the pyramids does look better in pictures. If you have the choice between Cairo and luxor then pick luxor.
Sharm el sheikh is nice but westernised. Nice place though.

Did not enjoy the country all that much. It was a little unsettling to see armed guards manning the fuel pump islands to make sure all transactions were conducted in a mannerly way.

When one goes to the restroom in the fuel stop, will usually find individual expecting to collect funds for the privilege of using the facilities. Also, the word "NO" apparently does not have same meaning universally as necessary to get up in a cab drivers face after he kept on trying to change and extend assignment.

Vendors at the pyramids in Cairo will snatch the hat off your head and then expect you to buy something from them before they will return yours. Another face to face encounter.

After your tour guide has agreed upon funds in his hands after tour, you cease to exist, and he will hardly acknowledge your presence.

I began to suspect when our ship came came into port to find a private multi-million yacht moored at the outermost dock,bow out. In other words,it could get the hell out of Dodge,at a moments notice.
