I have posted in my profile that I'm not looking for a long distance relationship. Yet I have men from all over the United States responding. Do guys even read the profiles? I also posted that I'm Wiccan and guys looking for a God fearing woman also respond. What's your take on this?

You will find that nothing works here. Searches, filters, nothing works. We are all grouped in together. For example. Women my age should be on my main page at the top. Instead, it's 18 to 30 somethings. When you do a search for women my age they will come up, But, You will never see your age group on at the same time you are. No matter what time you are on. It will always, for the most part, be younger and out of state. It doesn't matter if they read your profile or not. If the filters worked, you would never see them. And they would never see you.

Do guys even read the profiles?

I would imagine so.
Unless every man in the world has emailed you I think it's safe to assume some would read "not looking for long distance" and decide not to email you.

I doubt guys would read that and then email you to tell you they aren't going to email you because they don't match your requirements.

What's your take on this?

From their perspective there is no harm in emailing you.
The worst you can say is either "no," or give no response.
And it takes only a couple minutes at most to send a basic email so it's not like sending you an email is forcing them to ignore another opportunity.

Other than that, is this really that bothersome to you?
You get an email, you click on their photo, their profile notes "from another state/country" and you delete/block email from them without reading it?

Is the problem really that guys you don't want are emailing you?
Or that guys you would want to aren't?

Do you go out and find guys you want to date and email them?

Well this is the internet and who knows maybe they can change your mind. laugh

Personally OP... Many do read profile and many do NOT... Just delete the ones that don't appeal to you. Problem solved....

Good luck in your search

Set your mail filter to limit who can email you.

Some do and those are seriously looking ones.
Some don't and those are fishing.

I also posted that I'm Wiccan and guys looking for a God fearing woman also respond. What's your take on this?

Those who say God-fearing maybe very religious or scammers.. your call.

Also, not a lot of people know what Wiccan is.. I had to google it.

Anyway, good luck in your search.

Long distance is subjective, some consider this means out of the country, where others the other side of their city, it would probably be better to specify your search area or a maximum distance from where you live. If you are looking for someone with the same beliefs as yourself you need to make it clear, many people do not restrict their search for a partner to a particular faith or belief, but take a broader view. However, there are those whom don't bother to read through all the profiles of the people they try to make contact with in the hope of a reply.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.
