I'm here in Daytona Beach and I'm ready preparation wise, I'm just not looking forward to the cabin fever or the aftermath of the storm. I expect a lot of storm damage the way the Weather Channel is warning everyone. It would be great to have a miracle happen where Matthew decided to take a turn eastward and head out into the Atlantic and just die!!!!LOL Right now all we can do is wait it out and hope for the best. flowerforyou frustrated frustrated frustrated

i wonder why they chose the name "Matthew" for such a destructive event.
as far as i have learnt, the name Matthew has only positive meanings, not any bad meaning..

I live in Orlando and we did pretty well here. I know the East Coast of Florida was rocked pretty good, especially Daytona, Cocoa Beach, Flagler Beach, St. Augustine, Jacksonville.....but Haiti was devastated by Matthew. Last I heard there were 800 confirmed dead there. Praying for Haiti and for all who were affected by Matthew.

I am very very sorry for those that live in Haiti too ...
I also know they get a lot of support $ wise when this happens to them ... and even people selling their children ... I always wonder
did that go to those people ...who end up loosing it all ...
they have never talked about it after they have been given the $...
but I do know they need supplies and the red cross goes in ... most of the time ...
