New lights seem to be on top of the Christmas shopping list.
You are right Annierooroo.
The prices will go down AFTER Christmas, as they always do.
I consider some of the Orthodox Christians I know very lucky because they celebrate Christmas after December 25th, do they get to choose both lights and decorations at lower price and without any stress whatsoever. That gives them both better deals and more time to prepare for the holidays.
Lucky, lucky! Well, good for them. : -)

Hi GentleSoul,

I always use the same old deco unless something needs replacement. I do love handmade deco though and if I have a chance to go shopping I don't hesitate buying them.

It was heartbreaking after carting them around that long,
some were very delicate :-(

Now I get decorations at the dollar store and do not worry
about them at all :-)

Beautiful trees!
I miss driving around town at Christmastime and seeing
all the decorated houses, whole streets of them, then.

I hear you... Let's hope karma catches up! rant

Hi lu_rosemary : -)

I wish I still had some of my childhood ornaments, but... :-(
Well, at least I have memories. Those can't get lost or broken while moving. Or stolen!

Christmas shopping can be a bit hectic, so I try do it a bit earlier or a bit later, after Christmas. There is always a new year, so why not take an advantage of deals this year?

A bit of planning can help with saving both money and time, so it doesn't hurt.

I only buy new things when I want a different colour in the tree. But even then I usually use the decorations I've had for yonks. I still have one bauble and 3 (fabric) angels that I bought for my first Christmas in my own place.
I got a bunch of golden baubles that I always use as a neutral element with coloured baubles. I've had gold & purple, gold & red, gold & pink, gold & blue.
The last couple of years I have had large fabric red roses in my tree, again with the golden baubles. Love them roses!

I think this was my tree last year:

And my li'l angels :)

I like all your tree lights, GentleSoul. I like really bright colors - purple, red, blue, bright yellow.

CrystalFairy, your Christmas tree from last year is really pretty. I like those big red flowers.

Nice tree with roses CrystalFairy. I like that touch of flaming red. <3

Those angels are very gentle.

This one would be my favorite, maybe because I can't imagine a life without music. Christmas carols always cheer me up.

If you don't have a pet bnelson1225 that tree might survive Christmas and New Year, too.

I still remember my cat's "help" with decorating! : -D

You are probably not the only one for doesn't decorate for any holidays justaokguy.
It seems that some of my neighbors won't decorate either.
Everyone has their own way of doing things.
