Hi I'm Ben. just starting using the site within the last few days. Is it odd to get messages from people (esp. girls/women, not being sexist, just based on my experience) that want your (g/)email right away? thanks

Welcome :-)

Hint: It is in a scammers interest to
get you off-site with a phone number.

Welcome to the asylum known as mingle....

I wish you the best of luck here...

Yup as soulfie stated alto of scammers do that. Not only to get you off site where it's hard to report them. But with a little research and a couple of bucks you can find out a persons name, adress, etc with a valid phone number...

Unfortunately the number they give you is a non fixed viop number. Which is untraceable at the moment.

When the site is free I see no reason to communicate via any other means.shocked

I've noticed recently that this site (Mingle) will stop a long time members ability to post, and send messages, until said member gives up their mobile number... I've been wondering about this too??

True members may not want to give out their mobile numbers to verify that they are real, but real scammers, and spammers will offer up their numbers any ole time.. Seems to me this is no way to get rid of scammers, but a damn good way to get rid of real members..

I still think that it's odd when guys give me, on first or second message, their email, phone number, skype request, etc. Or they ask that of me. I never respond.

they are looking to get you Ben.. your wallet that is. Their family was always wiped out in some horrific situation.. in Africa.. and they are stranded their.. with their blind Grandfather..right next to the Western Union.

She:.. is Mohamed.. and Mohamed is sitting in a internet café.. with 20 other " Mohamed's".. smoking Camels and drinking Cokes.. just waiting for the next sucker

Well, I'm 75. I get all kinds of requests from women ages 20's - 30's that are interested. Want me to contact them on g-mail, text and maybe Skype. Most get deactivated real soon. 1st thing any of them wanted was a MoneyGram for some problem or another. Some I've communicated with on Skype. That's a lot easier and has video chat available if both have a Camera with their computer. None of them got any money from me. they seem to move a lot. From state to state and even to different countries.
