You haven't even started to give us enough information to even start to try to help you.
Non-bootable device could be anything from a thumb drive to a hard drive.
Any device that is in the boot sequence. Modem, sound card, graphics card?

Not knowing what system you have...

Look in system devices and see if anything has a yellow exclamation mark by it. Click it and go into properties and update driver or uninstall it and scan for hardware changes or unhook, unplug the device and try to reboot.

You can also try rebooting after unplugging any peripherals that run on a usb port. If it boots, plug in one device at a time till the unboot warning comes back - that will be the device. Then look and see if it is compatible with your system. Check for updated software or drivers from the manufacturers.

non system disk will not allow you to boot to windows... hes stuck at the bios screen and bios is looking for a hard drive to boot to.
Yes it can be a flash drive, remove it... ( unplug all usb devices except mouse and keyboard ) try to reboot. If you continue to get non system disk chances are you have a hard drive thats failed or a motherboard controller thats failed. You could also have accidentally deleted ( or a virus deleted ) the windows boot partition.
Regardless of which item is causing the issue... ultimately bios is looking for a boot partition ( os ) to start up. It cant find one.

If you have another computer you could download and create a bootable cd from Hirens boot disk or .. a falcon 4 boot disk and use mini xp environment. Once you get a hirens / xp mini os booted and running you can use one of the hard drive testing tools on the disk to scan and verify the disk.

I hope that helps..

If it just so happens your trying to change or restore a d/l windows version or copy it must be set to allow legacy mode.

this can be caused by a number of reasons, the drive has no label, the boot record is corrupted, the boot mbr is missing, the drive is damaged, etc

put in a windows disk n boot from it and pick repair windows, also run sfc /scannow

Spanky,
I suggest you hook your computer up to the window that faces your neighbor's bedroom. View with infrared for best results.

Listen, us guys can't fix computers so do what I did

Contact Big Brother organization. Tell them you want to be a big brother to 2 teenage boys. I Asian and I white kid.

Have the Asian kid fix your computer ( he will have it repaired and your system zipping in no time) and have the white kid rake the leaves in the yard.

Boss them around.. that's what big brothers do.

Step1. Power on your computer and tap "F2" button to enter your PC BIOS interface.
Step2. Select "BIOS Setup Utility" option to choose "Advanced BIOS Features".
Step3. Highlight "Hard Disk Boot Priority" and check or reset your bootable hard disk as the first in the boot device list.
Step4. Press "Esc" to get back and restart your computer to have a try.
Generally, your computer will set up and run well as you expect when this computer no boot device available error problem really happens due to setting wrong boot device.

that hurt my brain it was so simple: Sorry! it took less then 1 min to find it on the web!

People that is what the google search is for!
