Well bummer, was hoping this thread was going to further a better understanding of what others had in their custom comp. "rig" and what it was built for as a comparison. Guess not, guess I should have seen the "rig" part coming. At least it didn't attract a drug crowd.

Well, I don't know how computers do what they do. So to me they ARE full of magic.

I bought a shelf HP Pavillion HPE in 2012 and it still works perfectly. It has 10 GB of Ram and a separate but mid-grade graphics card.
I haven't tweaked it or over-clocked anything - it is as it was when it came out of the box.

I also have a laptop that is a HP Compaq that was standard from the box in 2007. It still runs but is showing its age.

With no customization my "rigs" do not warrant any hype.

Its not what you got, its how you use it.
