Some series that were absolutely good take so long to come up with a new season you might as well forget about watching it altogether.
Why is it that cheap BS series manage to spew out a new season on time and the better ones can't?
- Taboo: Delayed AGAIN for a whole effing year! MAYBE Jan/Feb 2020
- Lost in Space: Delayed and likely not out until somewhere (end) 2020
- Victoria: Bleep knows when it will return...
- The Crown: Bleep knows when it will return...
- Outlander: not even started filming season 5 yet, so won't be on until (early) 2020
- The Last Kingdom: I believe this also won't be out until 2020

Why the hell networks need so much time to think about renewal?
It's why I stopped watching GoT as well. By the time they finally had a new season out I'd forgotten who was who, what they'd done, who belonged to which realm and so on.
It took me most of the season to work it out, and with each season I seemed to lose track of one realm entirely.
I gave up on it.

Hopefully some new, good series will come out, as there's nothing much to watch anymore, unless you like Captain MickeyMouse underwear type of crap, haha.

Personally I believe the better series, with higher production standards, take longer to get everything right.
Some of it has to do with ratings and viewership of the final season episode.
TV shows and Movies are not about pleasing the public. They are all about making money and selling advertising to make money.

What I do is stream.
I wait till the entire season is complete then watch it all at once.

Lost In Space is one I want to see.
I too am a bit miffed about it taking so long but I just consider it takes time to do it right.
I watched the entire first season all at once.
I was so-so about it till I saw the final episode.
Now I have trouble waiting...

Another one was Star Trek Discovery

What I hate is the mid-season breaks.
Where they play half the season then make you wait for 2 or 3 months to see the rest of the season.
That's why I started waiting till the season is complete before watching it.

Last time I rushed home to watch a show was Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Then I got smart and started setting my VCR.

Yes, I understand quality series take more to get it right, but if it's incredibly popular I'm like, get the bleep on with it! Why wait weeks, months to decide if you're even going to renew it?
Sometimes it's also the actors, like Tom Hardy in Taboo. I believe he had other engagements for a while hence the postponing.

And Lost in Space, when I found out it was going to take so long I was thinking, the kid is about to be an adult by the time it's done! laugh

I hate mid-season breaks too. And good, promising series not being renewed.

I think this is why Dutch tv stations don't get a series in until there's more seasons, and as a result are always behind which is why I stream tongue2
Advantage is that Dutch viewers seldom are disappointed about their fave series suddenly disappearing.
