So I am curious to know what male and female inquiries have elicited the most positive responses?
Men: What have you started with that got a response? What inquiries got a response from you? Ladies: What are some clever starters that you found yourself responding too? IF you initiated a conversation what was your starter? Asking for a friend, not for me who is on a few dating sites and trying to figure out how all this works |

I generally charge a fee, to participate in research.
Best of luck. |

that's very true, but since this isn't going to be published in a scholarly journal maybe you could help a brother out?

For myself, what usually got things started conversation wise. Reading profiles, and taking the time to think about what I read, that may interest me and going from that.
With that said, it can be a lot of hit or miss. |

To start, I'm not a 30 or 40 something person. I'm 50 and over, but there are some things that apply here. Indicate that you read the profile. Talk about a mutual interest.

Something clever which at the same time shows you actually read about them first. Funny is always good, just be sure it's funny..
I had a guy just send a message that said "mommy?" What the heck is that supposed to mean? |
