I'm wondering if people are interpreting this question differently.

Do I think it is possible to fall in love with someone via the internet?

No, I don't think that can happen. I think you can get infatuated with someone over the internet

Do I think you can meet someone via the internet that you could fall in love with once you are together?

Absolutely!! I've done that.

We met via the internet. We corresponded and talked on the phone for months becoming enamored (as in having a liking or admiration for each other). Once we met it grew into a deep a loving relationship.

If you mean finding each other via the internet, then meeting, dating, etc.
Absolutely yes! Happens more often all the time too.

I know 3 couples that were ultimately married after meeting in online dating (OLD). They are still married today.

I use them as the beacon of hope.

For some of us, finding a circle of similar, possible, and desirable potential mates in real life - IRL - is nearly impossible. OLD is a viable option.

OLD gives the timid the beer muscles to reach out to the opposite sex and start a dialog.

But OLD itself is an effing dumpster fire, reducing us all to disposable people if you are not in that magic 20% of beautiful peeps. Else, we have tall obstacles to get over to succeed.

Couldn't have said it better.

I am going to answer it the way I understand the question.

Can you meet someone online that after meeting them and getting to know them in person, you'll have the potential to fall in love with? Yes.

Can you fall in love with someone online you have met? I'd say that is, at least for me, a hard no. I may feel an attraction, an infatuation, come to care about that person as a fellow human. All of that absolutely, but to me love is something that only happens when you are actually with the person over time.

Heck, most of the time, you don't even know if the person you are talking to is the person in the picture they have up.

There is unexplanable connection between us, we really understand esch other, same views in life, feelings, experience, to name a few. He is my soulmate, but unfortunately we cant be together...

Well if you feel neglected and unhappy in your marriage and there's no chance of saving it then it's time to end it and start afresh again. Does that not make sense?

So you're trying to tell me that no one ever gets divorced in your Country? Somehow, I find that very hard to believe!
