Great! My car has been declared safe and okay by my own mechanic! The timing belt still needs to be replaced, but there's no hurry, it can be done when it gets MOTed in August, along with a new oil filter. But it is a good car, safe, I think he was actually impressed :) I feel much better knowing this, and... I didn't have to pay him! He said, it's fine, it's an honest car, you don't have to pay. Wowza! He often helps me out a bit :) Had I asked the garage where I bought it to check it they would've charged me E235 ($235) for it! So I'm happy!!

feel great for crystal. now all she needs is some red racing stripes It certainly would be hilarious, racing stripes on a Hyundai I10 hahaha. But yeah, me's very happy that I didn't get conned at the garage, because I think the Suzuki Splash I almost bought did have a serious problem that they then of course down-talk to something insignificant. And I think next MOT will be some E150 max which I think is doable :) So glad to have a reliable mechanic, and a back-up in the US if need be haha.

Feeling happy for Crystal, yay! Also feeling happy that my boss finally finished my work evaluation/review and is recommending a decent raise for me. She's faxing it today and will be talking with the owner on Tuesday. She said not to hold my breath, lol. And I won't, but I'm thrilled that she at least did it and it feels really good to get the recognition for a job well done. Hopefully the owner will see my value and follow the recommendation... it would indeed be in her best interest to do so.

She said she was almost done. I told her I was going to the store and said I'd stop by on my way home, in about 45 minutes to sign it.
