Either really great things, or things that are incorrect.
Like sometimes seeing part of the microphone, or information being incorrect etc.

There's something in The Da Vinci Code that I never get. Mr Know-It-All symbologist says that the star carved on Saunière's chest is a pentacle. But... a pentacle has a circle around it. This is obviously a pentagram. Same star but without circle.
I still consider that a big FU.

In the 1990 movie The Rookie ( https://trakt.tv/movies/the-rookie-1990 ) during the fight scene after Charlie Sheen crashes into his house with the motorcycle, you can see Clint Eastwood in the mirror as he directs the scene. It only lasts for a second so you have to pause and flip frame by frame to see it.

In the 1974 version of Gone in 60 Seconds ( https://trakt.tv/movies/gone-in-60-seconds-1974 ) the part where Halicki crashes Eleanor into the light pole when exiting the highway was not a planned stunt. In fact, they were filming the shot, as they did for all of them, without permission or permits. The film crew quickly evacuated the spot and never reported the accident to the authorities.

Just remembered now, in the series Strike Back... cannot recall from the top of my head which episode, I do think in the last season (5)...

They have to put a magnetic explosive on a small truck. But the scene before that happens, when Scott and Stonebridge are talking in the car, the explosive shouldn't be there yet. But you can see it on the truck. In the next shot it's gone again.

Another episode of Strike Back you see Stonebridge running from a car with his fly open and some white piece of clothing sticking out, hahaha.
Next shot, still the same scene, it is gone.
Makes me think, why not do that scene over as it looks totally stupid.

I had just saw this one the other day...

In the 1983 version of The Dead Zone ( https://trakt.tv/movies/the-dead-zone-1983 ) John Smith has an accident with a tanker. The trailer separates (something in itself HIGHLY unlikely) from the truck. As the trailer is sliding down the road, the marker lights are still illuminated, even though the truck is the power source for the lighting and is no longer connected via the pigtail.

In the 1998 movie Ronin ( https://trakt.tv/movies/ronin-1998 ) the Audi in the Nice car chase alternates between the requested S8 and an A8. The S8 has silver mirrors and a three-spoke steering wheel. In some shots, the Audi has body colored mirrors and a four-spoke steering wheel. Those are available on the A8 model.

Oh yeah, there are tons of film gaffs like those. One sort of phenomenon I've run into, since I sometimes rewatch films I have liked, is how sometimes a favorite film drops way down my list of enjoyables, because I LEARNED SOMETHING that makes it unbelievable.

One that sort of fits that for me, was The Shining, as done with Jack Nicholson. I loved it, until I made the mistake of reading the book. After knowing what the story is supposed to be about, I can't stand Kubrick's version.

Most of the time, especially when I pay to see a film, I try to turn off my critical eye, to get my money's worth.
But sometimes the screw ups are just too annoying.

I loved the relatively silly film, The Rocketeer, because I grew up on films like it. But at a fairly important scene, where the Rocketeer's friend is racing by truck to try to help him, the director decided to save money by reusing a shot. The friend is driving the truck, and the Rocketeer comes towards him fast, and the driver reacts with a look of dismay. Problem is, this was a shot from later on the film, where they are both trying to escape reporters in the truck, and the Rocketeer stands in the bed of the truck, and uses the rocket to give them a boost. And the audience can clearly see that he is standing right behind the driver. In both shots.
Made me very annoyed with the director for being so terribly sloppy. Insulting to the audience, really.

In the 1968 movie Bullitt, considered my many to be the "Greatest Car Chase ever filmed," actually uses recycled footage to extend the scene. Specifically, watch the cars that are passed when they come down the hill. First they pass the white GTO that pulls out in front of the Charger and then the Green VW Beetle. That scene is shown from two different perspectives and then the chase continues after both cars make a hard left turn. Suddenly, the Charger and the Mustang are coming down "another hill" and you see them again pass the same two cars from 2 additional camera angles. Admittedly they are two different shots (because the Charger doesn't loose the hubcap in the second one), just they just used two takes of the same scene.

Bonus mention, they once again pass the same white GTO, this time coming up the hill after they break away and continue the chase again.

Just found another one...

Season #3 Episode #15 Wonder Woman (Aired Feb 1st, 1979) ( https://trakt.tv/shows/wonder-woman/seasons/3/episodes/15 )

In the beginning of the episode, you see a news van with the lettering on the side WZAB in Pittsburg...now I know there are many Pittsburgs in the country, so I watched more of the show and they are obviously referring to the one in Pennsylvania (they have state police cars with a striped-down PA state symbol on the sides and speak of Western Pennsylvania when talking about the region affected by the UFO's). That being said, the Pittsburg in Pennsylvania is unique to any other in the country because they are the only one to put an "H" on the end. There is no H on the side of the van.

Had another one...

In The Untouchables (1987), Frank Nitty is helped off a building by Elliot Ness and met up with Al Capone in and out of the courtroom.

Neither happened in real life. In fact, Nitty took over the Capone family when Al was convicted for tax fraud.

Just saw another one...

In the movie The Deadly Mantis (1957) when Dr. Ned Jackson is leaving his office with his bags as he gets ready to go to the arctic, you can see the shadow of the boom mic on the far wall as they leave the office.

You can see it at the 43:17 mark on the video over the rhs of the door.

Today's newest discovery.

From the made-for-TV movie Gargoyles:

During the motorcycle chase scene, the police car changes from a Chevy to a Ford.

OMG!
Sometimes I think the writers and directors never went to school.
In the genre stuff I like to watch science goofs are so common its unique to find a movie that actually gets it right.

When someone is knocked unconscious they are still breathing. So many times you see someone getting knocked out, falling in water, then after a period of time recover. Duh, they would drown!

Impossible technology is another goof I commonly see.
Star Trek Beyond's Yorktown Station is a perfect example. The magnitude of that station could not be built in any timeline. In the reboot film, we saw the Enterprise being built at the shipyard on Earth. There wasn't enough time for a station of that size or outfitting to be in its finished state.

Another is the station at the bottom of the Mariana's Trench in the film Underwater. They pretty much ruined that film at the very beginning.
There is so much wrong with that movie I've found it nearly impossible to watch. I could write paragraphs all day about its goofs.
Air compresses, water does not. Its the whole principal of hydraulic physics being ignored.
Not only is the pressure ignored, the outfitting, large spaces and restricted emergency systems would be extremely unlikely given the depth and danger involved.
Needing a key card to close an emergency door, long open hallways, bathroom sinks and locker rooms, flimsy suits people wear like clothing.
Partially flooded passages, really? Air compresses, water does not. If the place springs a leak that water is coming in at 8 tons psi. The air these people run around in, breathe and seek out would be compressed to equalize the pressure of the water on it. Any air bubble they want to breathe will be under at least 8 tons psi.

You can't jump a normal car over a long distance. Cars and trucks are front heavy. They do not have aerodynamic lifting surfaces like a plane's wings.

Everything that makes noise will make noise in space but you can't hear the noise in space because there is nothing for the sound waves to propagate to your ears.

There is no need for wings on a space craft unless it will fly in an atmosphere. Spacecraft do not bank when they turn in space.
Up/down in space is relative to your current orientation. I find it amusing how spacecraft meet in space and they are always oriented the same no matter where they came from.

Terraforming planets is dumb/stupid. Earth is habitable to humans because we are conditioned thru evolution to live in these conditions. The life balance is complex and 4.5 billion years in the making. We have unique gravity, unique atmosphere, unique biology and unique everything which is specific to our physiology and composure.

In The Martian, he farms potatoes using human waste and martian soil. Dirt on Mars is sterile. There is no bacteria, no organics in it. Its not like grabbing dirt from your yard and growing potatoes under a sun lamp.

The human body exists in a specific air pressure range. Its a very limited range and on the two extremes of that limited range you get the bends. The bottom of the Mariana's Trench and the void of space are two extreme limits far past our body's survival range.
In the Underwater scenario the compressed air would cause your cells to implode. In space the lack of pressure would cause your cells to explode.
Then there is heat transfer. In space your exposed body would freeze solid.

In Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, lava is not hot. Cris Pratt's hand and foot touch the lava. Pyroclastic flows move at hundreds of miles per hour and are extremely hot. You're not going to outrun them, out drive them or be engulfed in one and survive.

What almost always off: woman's baby bump. The only time they get it right is when the actress got pregnant for real. But then you can still spot when she has delivered her baby in real life and they put a fake bump on the no longer pregnant actress to shoot the last parts of her character being pregnant.
I honestly cannot understand why it is so hard to make a believable baby bump.
It's not rocket-science?

I really enjoy when actors characters effectively portray true alignment.
The genre, plot and subject matter in the films don't have to be all that good if there is a realistic connection in the characters.

For example:
Dogman (2012)
Larry Joe Campbell plays Hanklin Purvis
Mariann Mayberry plays Dorothy Purvis
These two make an otherwise bad werewolf movie enjoyable to watch.
If I met them in real life, I would want to be their friend.

Night Feeders (2006) syfy original type film
Donnie Evans plays Donnie
Terrible alien romp but Donnie is so adorably innocent to watch.
Love how he treats Terry (Kate Leahey)
Funniest line Donny says he's coming back with his redneck buddies!
Whoever wrote his lines was brilliant and Evans pulls it off perfectly.

You should read some of the comments on the movie in the comments section.
LOL, I started watching it and almost forgot to finish my post here, Hahaha!

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) well-made scifi fantasy
Dane DeHaan plays Major Valerian
Cara Delevingne plays Sergeant Laureline
These two have a connection that makes the film that much better.
The story is so-so, the effects are typical but their interaction makes the movie.
Add in the awesome performance by Rihanna as Bubble and the movie is a winner.
