My understanding is that Mingle2 is a "social" site as well as a "dating" site, so many people on here that are in relationships are here for the social aspect, they enjoy the forums, and their spouses are very likely to be aware they are on here. People on "dating" sites have their focus on just that in my opinion, irrespective of their marital status.

I think I already answered this.

There is a difference between married and separated. The topic is married people in a commited marriage who do not let their spouses know they are on a dating site.

It is deceitful.
what would that difference be ????

Do you acknowledge that in certain cultures men can have more than one wife , if that is correct ... not all who are married are being deceitful . Not everyone shares the religious morals of marriage .

Years ago I met, and befriended a fella whose wife had a hysterectomy. Post surgery she didn't want to have sex. Ever. he told me that nearly 3 years went by before he talked about it with her, and she said that she loved him, but the surgery destroyed her sexual drive and that she probably would never want to **** again.

She told him that so long as he wasn't throwing it up in her face he had her permission to **** other women. What puzzled him was the reaction of women, who felt that he had an obligation to basically assume the role of a ****ing monk, or get divorced. He said it was like he had to choose either extreme.

Thoughts?

I'd say, get a divorce and move on.

Morals are all well and good as long as they do not create conflict and judgement . We all have different values and moral codes but that does not give us any right to inflict our own standards on others .

As is often stated in the forums ... Mingle is considered a social networking site not just a dating site . There are many reasons other than dating that inspire people to join . The site does not ban those who are married . If anyone has a moral issue or any other reason that they do not wish to interact with married people there is a filter that you can select .

@luca .. I adore your contributions to the forum and as far as I am concerned you are always very welcome here  waving

True.... so I think it comes down to, what would be said in their profile

It is obvious what married and separated is.
I am not sure why you are being contentious about the topic, talking about other cultures when the people here in the forums are not polygamous. I am sure they exist, but do not post on the forums.

If you wish to make a Married topic and extend it to what you wish to make it, go for it.

This topic is about married people who do not let their spouses know they are on a dating site.
I am not going to apologise for having morals, the sanctity of marriage should be respected by both parties in the marriage as most on this thread agree.

the topic is marriage ???? biggrin why am I being contentious ??? Because I do not share your viewpoint ??? That is very egocentric . Mingle js an international multicultural site . The forums are not representative of the entire mingle community just a select few. I have seen several topics posted about oolyamarous relationships/ marriages and users on mingle looking for the same . No one is asking you to apologise for your morals . They are yours . Others are entitled to their own .... including married who may not hold the same religious morals about marriage . Don’t take it personally it is just a debate
