I don't think we had MTV at that time yet. We had our own music programmes.

Realising my age is what I tend to become aware of when I look at my kids' age. When I think, "OMG he/she is now X yrs old, wow!" the next thought usually is "Damn... that means I'm.... 55 yrs old!" hahaha.
I usually forget. I feel young, and I know everyone utters those words, by I genuinely do feel young.

I wasn't fortunate enough to have cable back then but a friend of mine did and his parent always had it on when I'd stop by to pick him up for school. The real question you should be asking is "Hay every one, do you remember when MTV use to play music videos all day long?"

When I heard that news it hit me too. I know Sirus/XM radio still has a few of the original VJ's working daily (Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman and Allen Hunter).

Nah... Watching news makes me question
the intellect of the tools who decide
what to report.

MTV? Commonly referred to as Empty Vision?
I was a fan for all of about ten minutes.
Actually, kinda glad I missed it.

It doesn't make me feel old. That was my early high school years. I had the big choice of watching MTV and listening to the radio, which I did both.

Listening to vinyls, cassettes & the radio. Miss it. The Nostalgic movies for me are; The Breakfast Club & Coming To America.

Well. Remember when TV was a new thing? B&W only. We had 1 in the whole neighborhood. Party night every night. Ah. The good ole days. No. Donโ€™t feel fossilized. Itโ€™s all in yer head.

I was watching Gilligan's Island when it was on primetime.
I also remember watching Star Trek when it was first aired.
Tin foil on the rabbit ears and a clicker dial that went to 13 with UHF spinner. There were three real channels; ABC, NBC & CBS then you had independent channels if you could pick them up. Hadda wait for the TV set to warm up.
I was dad's remote control.

MTV was okay for about a month then...meh.

American Bandstand, Tonight Show, Hee Haw, Dick Clark and Soul Train were my music television. Oh an lest we don't forget the crazy Monkees or the Osmond's Show.
Dad had his Larence Welk and Red Skelton shows and big sis had Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. Mom was all about soap operas and Marcus Welby MD.

Do I feel like a fossil...nah but I watched real television which made sense.
I used to think anyone with a black eye smoked Tareyton and people really did walk a mile for a Camel.

I might be old but not a fossil. I remember black and while TV's and they were still being sold when MTV first came out.
