Yes, the absence of it. No way will I get involved with a religious man.
Thank goodness many Dutch people aren't all that religious anymore, and I steer clear of the group that is. Mostly reformed varieties that are strict.
We have 2 bible belts, one in my province. Quite scary as these don't do vaccinations of children and regularly there are outbreaks of measles and I'm not protected from that. No vaccinations at the time and I didn't have it as a child.

In any case, I'm not keen on religion and religious people, and that's putting it politely. So yes, it would matter.

Not to me, but the society and rules of the country I live in say otherwise. I could be in a relationship with someone from any religion, but getting married will be impossible unless they convert to the religion written on my ID. I can't just say, "to hell with it", because that's how the law goes in my country.

Well, if my partner comes to me and tells me that she loves god or jesus or allah or whatever the heck is its name, then it's better that she goes after him. I don't share

Love can be both spiritual and physical. You can do both sense we were created to be that way.

To me, "spiritual" does not equal "religious" though.

Spiritual to me is more like Taosism, Buddhismism, or Wicca. Religion is something much more organised with a strict hierachy. For example the Christian or Muslim faith.

Compatibility is important in any relationship regardless what topic one is dealing with.

I believe it does play a part, as does not being religious, as already mentioned by others it can be a legal requirement, or a family parents requirement in order to marry. Would you be prepared to change your religious beliefs, or take up a religion if required to marry, a lot to consider.

If a man is jealous at the fact that I love both God and Jesus , like we’re suppose to, well then that’s too bad. God created us to have love in our hearts not only for him but man as well so I have room in my heart for the right man who also loves both God and Jesus.

Exactly! Many people mix those 2 up.

Totally agree, and in that sense there's no default saying religion is a deal-breaker or not, nor anything else for that matter.

not if people respect each other. I'm not religious but I don't care what anyone thinks as long as it makes them a better person. if religious people could just not try and force those beliefs onto others we would be alot better off

Compatibility is important in any relationship regardless what topic one is dealing with.

So when are a couple compatible wrt specifically the topic of religion? Or they can have tolerable different views about it, but not too much?
