I only follow what's going on there via Kings & Generals on YouTube. A channel that does very regular updates. That way I know what is going on without having to watch/listen to the daily news.

As far as I know Ukranians are real decent people, and they're doing a great job defending their home country against someone with a serious attitude problem that happens to have power, making him very dangerous.

It's insanity what's going on there. They even hit places in other countries.

I feel sorry for the Ukranians and for having their home country ruined.

while that maybe true, hopefully some of that money trickles down to the people who are most affected .... the people who are innocent bystanders etc after all politicians are politicians....

I doubt it is possible to have that go to individual people at this point. The country likely needs a helluva lot of money to rebuild their energy structure that keeps getting trashed by the Russians so the people have electricity & means to heat their homes.
And the entire war effort that they need to support, including all the soldiers (pay, clothes etc. etc.), will also cost a fortune. Money that -if it wasn't for the Russians- would not have been required at all.
Because of one person's refusal to have common sense this whole thing is costing other European countries a ton of resources. 7 million had to flee from their homes. Thousands, millions, flocked to other countries, including mine.
We're already crammed with other refugees -often just fortune seekers, mostly young men- but these people really are in need.
This could so easily escalate into a full blown 3rd world war, a nuclear one at that. All because one pig-headed person.
He is putting everyone on Earth at risk. In that sense we're lucky that it hasn't progressed to that yet, mostly because the West is holding back. But one tiny li'l thing could tip the scales and have nukes flying across the globe.

PS I do btw totally understand that the Russians do not want NATO in a neighbouring country, close to their borders. And I support that one for sure. It's all to do with the ones in power wanting to extend their power, and sure as heck close in on Russia.
So I totally get his point concerning that. In the end Russia may be our only salvation from the ones in power. Kinda odd considering the ones in power being in the west (USA mostly and these days the EU is a near full-grown child of it).
But then this entire thing could've been sorted more elegantly, avoiding war.
The west should've compromised in this case: trading okay, without NATO presence. But that's not what the ones in power want or need.

Problem with war when it continues for any length of time -apart from the destruction and casualties- is that people forget what it was about to begin with. It become the new normal to fight, be angry with each other etc. The cause will be lost.

In essence everyone worldwide has been made a puppet on the strings of the ones in power, everyone means down to the individual that donates a Euro, clothes, food, etc. for the Ukranian refugees.
